AR Pic Thread! Lets see your black rifles!

Knockdownpower, I remember reading on magpuls website or somewhere else that those plastic BUIS shouldn't be used on gas block rails for fear of melting. Just thught I'd mention something... Here it is http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG245/45 Click on the specs tab for the disclaimer

    My super-ultra-lightweight AR15

I like it a lot, but have 1 queston... How many rounds of rapid fire do you think it would take to turn it into a 5lb 1oz plastic blob on the range floor? Just kidding :neener:

6 lb 1 oz. Browning BAR in 243 and 308

I may be wrong, but since the "lightweight" stalker weighs in at over 7lbs, I'd say its most likely a typo somebody is too lazy to fix.

    Lancaster 3060 rust?

I'm no firearms guru, but I know enough about metal to tell you that is rust. Albeit what appears to be light surface rust, you shouldn't have to deal with that on a brand new gun.

    NEF pardner manufacture date

I'm trying to help somebody find out how old their pardner is. He says it was made before NEF and H&R merged, since it says NEF on the reciever, whereas the newer ones say H&R. Any chance there's a website to lookup serial numbers on these guns, like their are on marlins, winchesters, garands...

    Quick AR question(s)

I used to have an AR, but it was a 20" heavy barrel with a rifle length rail. Long story short, it heavy. Too heavy for me, so I got rid of it. Now i'm looking at getting another one to work on my marksmanship, since I plan on enlisting in the marines after I get out of school. My question is...

    SMLE rapid fire

British solidiers were trained to do the mad minute. 30 rounds, aimed at a target 300m distant in a minute or less. So with training, it's pretty darn quick, almost comparable to a semi-auto.

    .243 or 7mm-08

We tried the walmart and the dicks sporting goods, and neither had it, so we had to go to a range about 15 miles from my buddies house. The cheapest stuff they had was federal for $35 a box. It might have been cheaper, but they usually put a nice little premium, since you have to buy their ammo...

    .243 or 7mm-08

A friend of mine has a Remington 700 in 7mm-08, and it's definitly a nice cartridge. However, I have a few criticisms of it. A) Ammo is about $40 a box for the "cheap" stuff around here, so if your on a budget or can't reload, stay clear. B) If you can't reload, it's nigh impossible to find...

Anyone know the name of the new gun that's supposed to be replacing the M16?

even if they replaced them there's no way you could get them. Since they're machine guns, they're prohibited by the 86 machine gun ban. And they are already destroying most military munitions, from tanks to pistols, so I see no reason they would change their practice.

    Burning old rifles in Kenya

I see some AKs, CETMEs, Lee Enfields, RPDs, a few RPGs, and unfortunatly, a few Garands, what a shame ( I also spotted a nice SxS shotgun, a Mosin, a few SKS's, as well as an AR )

I'm breaking up with .223 *sniff*

Also, if you go for a bigger woman, shes not quite as picky, so you can feed her more basic stuff (lead). That way, you get more and pay less. Aint the BBW's just great?

I'm breaking up with .223 *sniff*

like others have said, that old lady named .22lr is nice, easy on the eyes, ears, and shoulder, and with with the cost of dates with her, its almost like you're going dutch, but you could also go american, romanian, czech, russian, as long as she gets fed, she'll dress however you like.

    My AR, shoots fine (vid)

    Saiga 7.62x39 Rear Sight: 800m or 1000m?

If its 7.62x39, the farthest your going to get is about 300, after that, that round has the ballistics of a led balloon. If its x51, id still only go with 800, but i dont think your going to get that far with a saiga, but i may be wrong...

    Question about a Garand

im just looking down the road, and i think in the long run, it will be easier to get .30-06 cases and standard .308 bullets, instead of fooling with .303 brass and the variety of bullet sizes one can find. But i think I may scratch the garand, as it is more picky about ammo, and i think a bolt...

    Question about a Garand

Im not knocking the .303, i just dont want to have to buy loaded ammo to get reloadable brass, and i cant find much in the way component brass. The small amount of brass I can find is more expensive than .30-06, and not as easy to get. Also, it would be a lot easier to get free brass, I know a...

    Question about a Garand

Its still a .303, but it has a new stock on it. Its a monto carlo, but it has a sqaured off front end, like an Anschutz stock. The finish is still good, but a little worn. No obvious rust, and the rifling and bore look pretty good. I'll do my best to get some pics and put em up in a little while.

    Question about a Garand

A month or so back, i got a semi-sporterized P14 enfield, and while it is a very nice rifle, I sure wasn't gonna pay for commercial ammo, so i decided i would get a basic reloading setup to save some money. Before dropping any money on equipment, I went looking for componenets, and I came up...
