i bought a like new beretta 303 in 20 ga and a rem mod 11 in 12 ga. at auction.

The earlier Berettas had Mobil-choke type of chokes. My early 90's 682 has the Mobil-choke tubes, and the 303 I believe were from the 80's.

    Gun show find

Oh, I have two others, one early marked Huglu .410 SxS with a full and mod choke. The other is a 20 gauge SxS, CZ, with choke tubes, both have the Prince of Wales pistol grip and single trigger. Took me a while, but I ran a 25 on the skeet range with the .410. It would smoke targets when I hit...

    Gun show find

My actual price was $450 for this gun, last I looked they were about $1100 at the store. I took a couple shots with it last night to make sure that she worked, little heavy on the triggers, but that is about normal for CZ shotguns. Feels weird shifting back to the second trigger, had to think...

    Gun show find

Nothing really fancy about this SxS CZ Bobwhite. Picked it up today for half of what they usually go for. Not many deals at most gun shows. 20 gauge with double triggers. Five choke tubes. One minor nick in wood that you can barely see. Now I just have to learn how to shoot double triggers...

Another beautiful shotgun; Winchester Model 21.

A niche market for the 16 gauge is one factor that may hold the price down, it would probably sell in any other gauge for what is asking, probably much higher in 28 or .410. Someone really into 16 gauge fine shotguns would have to be in the right place at the right time. Beautiful gun.

    Going to the Trap Field

If you have a Dunhams sporting goods anywhere nearby they have been running sales on Remington Gun Club and Federal target shells, flat of 250 for $89.99. 12 or 20 gauge.

Ruger Red Label durability for trap?

The majority of shells that were shot through my Red Label was sub-gauge through Kolar tubes, 20, 28, and .410, it wore out at about 45-50 thousand shots, a 12 gauge Red Label Sporting clays gun started having problems under 8000 shots. A 28 gauge Red Label that I dearly loved was having...

    28ga 1100 Rise and Cast

May have been someones skeet gun that was set up to shoot a bit high. I like to have the bird above the bead so I can see it better. Not sure that you can lower it without shaving wood off or getting another stock and seeing if it needs to be lowered also.

New to skeet shooting. Am I looking at an ok purchase or is there better?

I was averaging about 500 rounds a week when I was competing in skeet in the early 1990's. Wore out a Ruger Red label, switched to a Beretta 682 Supersport that has about 40 thousand through it, barely broke in. Berettas and Brownings should go over 100K before needing service, Krieghoffs and...

New to skeet shooting. Am I looking at an ok purchase or is there better?

Back in the day my skeet averages were highest with 28ga, but the shells cost almost twice what 12 and 20 cost. Go with a 12 and buy ultralight target loads, still a premium price, but much less than 28 gauge. 20 gauge will work fine, but ultralight loads in 20 are also expensive. O/U guns...

    Citori questions

Usually when a gun is tubed for sub-gauge (Briley/Kolar) the company will work over the triggers to mechanical so the .410 will fire. My Beretta was originally an inertia, Kolar worked it over to mechanical, that was 30+ years ago. If the only thing you are going to use is the gauge the gun...

I tried trap shooting for the first time today.

The trap machine in the trap house has an oscillator built into it. It swings back and forth and stops occasionally in a set arc so you never know exactly where the target is going to fly other than in the set arc and elevation.

I tried trap shooting for the first time today.

As someone who loves Red Label shotguns, had 4 different ones. They will not stand up to high round counts of shells. I currently have none. My original went about 50,000 rounds before having major problems that Ruger fixed and lasted about another 10k before they showed up again, which...

My 870 Express 28-gauge shoots very high, is there an attachment for the vented rib?

Even a Bradley white front bead will slightly raise the height as opposed to the brass bead. Most shotguns shoot a slightly high pattern. For it to shoot flat like you want it you will have to push your cheek into the stock so you barely can see the top of the bead when looking down the vent rib.

    Rem 1100 interceptor?

Could be weak mag spring, I have seen rusty mag tube before interfering with the mag follower sliding down all the way.

When to list a 28ga for sale?

I sold one quite similar to that about 8 years ago. IIRC I got $2200 for it. It had choke tubes and a single trigger.

How would you go about buying a British shotgun?

Jaquas in Ohio usually has some coming in and going out at different times. I have seen both H&H shotguns there and Purdey's on my infrequent trips there, about 3 hours one way for me. Go every year or two.

    10 gauge vs 12 gauge 31/2”

I have an Ithaca Mag10 in the back of the safe that i used to hunt geese with. My buddy I hunted with had one also. We could consistently drop geese at 75 yards when they were skittish, when lead was legal. I saw my buddy drop one at 90 yards once. I have shot a few slugs out of it, just to...

    Good over/under other than a big "B"

As much as I loved how they shot and felt, I wore out two of them shooting skeet and sporting clays. Had owned several, and had problems with all of them. My favorite was a little 28 gauge that started messing up not wanting to shoot the second shot, it only had maybe 5000 rounds through it...

Is there a 223 and 20 or 12 gauge combo gun?

I have the the 24V, .357 over 20 gauge. My daughter has taken several deer with the .357 and my special handloads. It came with tapped holes for a scope mount, and is quite accurate even though the trigger has a bit to be desired.
