What reloading components have you overbought?

I'm with 2ndtimer. They all have very long shelf life so no worries. Buy all you can afford and then some.

    H110 and mag.spp

The some of the older manuals said a magnum primer was required. I've followed that advice and never regretted it. My favorite fireball is the one from my TC .357Max using a full power load of H110. What's unique about the picture is that the fireball is in the full sunlight and still quite...

    Help: ID this tool/die

Looks like a seating die, but I can't see what's on the inside looking from the bottom up

Firing a DA revolver in SA mode

Speed is the reason to shoot DA, accuracy SA. in NRA/CMP action pistol DA is required. In most other pistol sports it’s your choice. my IDPA, USPSA and Steel Challenge guns don’t have a hammer spur so SA isn’t safe to do anyway. For ICORE I like to have the option because sometimes the stage...

Thoughts on a 9mm Rifle for plinking and range use please

I decided on the Ruger PC9 because of the plethora of aftermarket parts and that it takes Glock mags. First time out I classified B class in steel challenge iron sights with it. Keeper.

Heading to the range today with what used to be "cheap" guns.

I bought a Mosin Nagant for $90 not too many years ago. It was so cheap I cut it down to 18" barrel and sporterrize the stock. Even then someone bought it for $300 recently. The gun store owner told me he'd just sold a whole case to one customer who was going to put a plexiglass top on it...

Well, Turn the lights off on Wa. State.

Could this become, if the BATF was so inclined, a jurisdictional issue? Unless the laws apply to all business equally then the state has no authority to dictate how Federal licenses conduct their business.

    Light 9mm REVOLVER ONLY reloads?

Perhaps I should have said, "slug your barrel." I guess I threw out the word bore as a generic word, sorry about that. However, I'd guess many (most?) of us will never slug the barrel be it the bore or the throat or... We can, which is what I did, experiment with different diameters and see...

    Light 9mm REVOLVER ONLY reloads?

Many of the 9mm revolvers use moon clips so you can reload with a roll crimp if you like. Just understand that they probably will seat too far in the chamber in semi-autos or in revolvers without using moon clips. And it might be a good time to remind that SAMMI specs on 9mm Luger and...

    Light 9mm REVOLVER ONLY reloads?

I haven't seen how low I can go with 9mm in my revolver yet. I'm only down to 3gr of TiteGroup under 147gr plated bullet. Actually in both PPC and Bullseye competition the rules do state exactly that. The bullet must pass all the way through the target and backer.

    Chicago Sues Glock

"Easily" is subjective and would be impossible to draw the line. Imagine trying to codify this in a regulation? If this case is found for Chicago, then what semi-auto manufacturer couldn't be found liable even if there aren't any "switches" for their model. Any gun whose action is easy to...

    These cartridges would not fire.

A Custom Master package obviously is backed up, while I think basic repair is a faster pipeline. Rebarreled a plain 686 last year and it took about 3 weeks door-to-door. Looking forward to hearing how it turned out aaaaa.

What other hobbies occupy your loading bench?

3D design and printing. Numerous things for reloading including a sieve for cleaning media and a holder for the primer counter on the reloader Microprocessors (Arduino) for the primer round counter and monitor. Now I don't do these things ON the reloading bench, but their end products are...

How Many Extra Magazines Per Handgun?

10 at least for most pistols. One reasoning being is I load them all up before I go to practice and for local tier one matches. Why waste time at the range loading magazines? I may be short 1 or 2 of my goal for a couple of guns. Interesting about same magazine for several guns. I've got...

    a 686 variant I've never heard of

While not common those are sights for silhouette competition. the four settings would be for 50, 100, 150, 200 meters if you were shooting big bore. Or shorter distances if shooting the NRA or Field Pistol regimine. In my day we counted clicks.

Let’s see an odd item that you use in your reloading process.

Got around to redoing my media sieve. This is designed mainly for 9mm. The ribs on the sides and bottom help tumble the cases and spill the media out as you rotate it. It could be screwed to the top of the vibrator in place of the lid and then held upside down with the motor on, but I just...

Let’s see an odd item that you use in your reloading process.

Two fairly ho-hum things but it's combing 3D printing hobby with reloading. First is a very specific funnel that has both an exterior skirt and an interior tube. This keep the funnel firmly in place so it doesn't tump over Specifically did this for .458SCOM The second is a sieve. Never...

Do You Change Your Every Day Carry When Going On Lengthy Out of State Road Trips?

For overnight or longer trips I pack a second gun. Sometimes an AR in a Yoga pad bag, or a ,357 revolver in a laptop bag. Of course extra ammo all around.

    Strange explanation at the range.

Steel cases are much easier to separate out than aluminum ones, so I don't think that's a good reason for prohibiting steel cases.
