357 mag loads with 148gr wadcutter

I am on the slippery down slope of life and want to keep shooting but My hands tell me to use lighter loads. I have #2, red dot, and trail boss I can use under my 148gr wadcutters. Anyone have any suggestions? I have both 38 sp. and 357 cases. Thanks, sourdough1938

I have been reloading for 70 years and have never cleaned my brass. Looks bad but works fine.

    OAL?

Loading for my 6.5x55. Cartridge OAL in my rifle is 3.132 to the bullet touching the lands with a 140 gr Barnes Match Burner. I think it is a good idea to not have the bullets touching the lands so I am going to load to 3.122 OAL. Am I doing good? The rifle is a T/C. Thanks for any...

    Sanity check starting from scratch

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but throw your list away. Since you have not reloaded before, just get the Lee hand loader kit in 223 or 308( just one caliber to start with) and a good scale. Balance beam scales are cheaper and as accurate as you need. You probably will not need to...

Pump Action Carbines in .38 special & .357 magnum

i just got a Pedersoli lightning carbine in 357 and took it to the range today. From a benchrest at 50 yards my best group was about 4 inchs, 4 inchs high, and 4inchs to the right. This was with three different loads. The best group (4 inchs) was with rem. 125gr semi-jacketed hollow point...

    Why so few pump rifles

I bought my first 760 in the late 50s. I have no idea how many rounds I have shot through it. I have had custom made rifles and exotic rifles and the best group I ever fired was with that 760 in .308. All shots touching at 100 yards with hand loads. Excellent choice for those of us that...

    How to improve MY accuracy?

Just two more suggestions. First, if your eyes are as bad as mine and you just see a gray blob on top of the barrel, consider a red dot or scope. Second, if you have room to practice at home, try dry firing at a target that is reduced in size for the range you are dry firing. It can be done at...

Would you carry a customized gun for CCW

I had a 1911 WWI comemerative many years ago. I sold it because I never took it out of its case. Very pretty but not a working gun. I have owned several guns and guns I carry are the most important to me. If you have a nickle plated gun with target sights don't carry it. You probably will...

Whats the best lie you had a gun seller tell you

38-40 bisley "So you got this old 38-40 Bisley colt with this short 4 1/2" barrel? Well I don't know. I guess I might be able to take it in on trade for this 4 power bushnel scope. " I was young and dumb (50 years ago) and did it.:uhoh:

    5am yesterday morning

I live in a rv in a rv park. At sometime around 5AM a sound woke me up. I thought it was the dog wanting to go out since I hadn't taken her (a20 lb pug) out the evening before. I turned on the light and the dog was standing on the bed looking at the door. I was sitting up wondering what had...

    38/357 in uberti lighting rifle

I am considering getting this rifle and wonder if anyone has reloaded for it. I like a pump because I shoot left hand usually. I can also shoot right handed but I am left handed and left eyed and have used a pump off and on for the last 50 years or so. I have also used and owned lots of...
