Steel cased round stuck in AR-15 chamber

This is correct. The worse possible outcome would be the round doesn't cook off. If it does cook all that will happen is the case will pop out in ways you cant imagine.

    How far would you go?

I agree, the fired brass looks like 6mm Remington Ackley improved. But to restate it once more, have the chamber cast done again.

Help Please - Bolt Action (Rem 721) "lazy extractor?"

I had this happen on my 721. The extractor is a steel ring that is riveted in. They have a tendency to crack. The permanent fix is to have the bolt machined for a different extractor, i.e. M16 or Sako are both popular extractors to replace the 721 ring.

Get the 6.5, its what you want. If you get something else you will second guess you purchase. You don't want buyers remorse.

    9mm AR-15 problem.

Are you running the 9mm buffer? If not that would cause the problems you have mentioned.

In that case it looks to be a very heavy duty nut cracker.

Real life Sitting and Standing Groups - No Fishing Stories Allowed!

I am not sure of your personal goals but as long as I can hit a 6" target I feel my shooting is good enough. So here ya go. Standing (unsupported) - About 4 to 6" groupings are all I can do. I don’t shoot this way and it shows. Sitting - I can average 3 to 4” groups. Kneeling – about the...

Local hunting accident. This needs to be shared

This is a tragic story. But as a Texan I wanted to comment on a few things. I own a little ranch and I always were orange when out on the ranch, hunting or not. In 10 years I have never crossed paths with anyone on my place, but my chances of being mistaken for wildlife go way down if I...

    Deer processing question...

To tell you the truth there are many too many reasons the meat could be tough. If you are only waiting 20 min to process then that might be a factor. The meat might be in the process of rigor. We usually hang the meat in a cooler for a few days at almost freezing. (38 - 42f) If you freeze it...

    Bad upper

I think this does not make sense. The mechanics of the auto sear are not that picky. Either the sear sets or not. Sounds as if it is not setting. Try a different carrier.

    Wait Times?

In the last few years my wait times have been 6weeks (fastest) and 11 months (longest) no problems on any of the transfers. Sometimes it just takes more time.

Did I get a good deal, or did I get a good deal?

Damage control or not, it takes two to make a sale. There is no shame in a bargain, for surly a stranger would have paid the asking price without hesitation or guilt. However at that price it is very believable that post #46 stipulations were in place.

    my wife doesnt know

My wife stated that she would like a Jericho 941. And if I wanted to pitch in something fully auto would be on her list. As we know, my money is her money, and her money is her money.

    Odd color Micarta

Here is my setup for making micarta-like scales. The dark color on the metal is wax. I used to cover the form with wax paper but that didn’t help, the fabric would become stuck and would require a large hammer to unstick them from the form. With a heavy wax coating the stuff pops right out...

    Odd color Micarta

19-3Ben, I have had great luck making "micarta" using a section of channel iron, flat tube, and c clamps. I will need to take a few pictures of the setup when I get to the shop. If your just making scales then you dont need big flat sheets, just enough to cover the handle.
