What realistic SD scenario can't be handled by a pistol round with carbine acuracy? Even with a pathedic 8 rounds, my storm 45acp is my go SD weapon.

I have a Mauser in 25-06. It has had it's up and downs feeding. The feed ramps were modified and there is a block in the back of the action so I can put the rounds all the way to the back and life is good. Hope you get it figured out, mine is a great shooter that I took my first deer with.
