The pistol you saw could have been modified.
I own a P45 that I reduced the grip to PM45 length and now use the PM mags.
Came out perfectly.
Thats one of the beautiful things about polymer striker fired pistols - grip is only plastic with no parts.
Its become my favorite carry gun.
I purchased several John Mason magazines when I bought my rifle new last October.
The John Mason magazines have been hit or miss in my rifle - usually failure to pickup/strip/feed round from the magazine.
Of the 7 mags I have purchased 3 have never failed
I have since begun purchasing factory...
CNobbe,
Why not take your CW9 and reduce the grip length?
Buy CW9/PM9 flush and extended mags and you will know exactly how much to remove from the grip.
Your longer CW9 mags would still work.
I did this with my P45 - so I have 3.5" barrell and PM grip length.
Its my every day...
I have a P45 that I use for every day carry.
I reduced the grip length to that of the PM45.
So I have longer P45 slide and shorter PM45 grip.
I use both the PM and P mags.
Gun has been flawless.
Does not recoil any more tham my Springfield aluminum receiver compact 45.
Great for CCW.
Fun...
I have inherited a Remington 721 with a 24” barrel chambered in 30-06 that was originally my grandfathers then my uncles. My dad thinks it was purchased new in 1949.
I am pretty sure that it was used for hunting not target shooting.
I have never heard any complaints about the rifle but I...
I own a pm9 and a p45. I have modified my p45 grip length to that of a pm45.
Of all the pistols I own, it is one of the kahrs that I usually carry.
I have lots of range time with the Kahrs and have learned to like the smooth easy dao trigger.
I do wish the Kahrs had a shorter reset though…...
Thank you guys for your information.
It was good news for me.
About 80% of the 1500 cases I had cleaned deprimed and resized are at the 1.7450 length.
I would have hated to lose all that time and effort not to mention the brass.
Thank you for your help.
I had thought to speed my case resizing efforts by putting the Lee Case Length Gage and Cutter in a drill press chuck rather than use the Case Locking Stud in a cordless drill.
I discovered that the tip/end of Lee Case Length Gage was intended to contact the base of the Locking Stud that...
I read an article in a gun magazine about a 20ga bolt action rifle.
I was shocked to read that it was shooting 3” groups at 200 yards with a few different commercially available loads.
The article also listed the trajectory for various 20ga loads and they were amazingly flat – at least it was...
PO2Hammer,
Both Kahr PM9 using 115gr RN and PM40 using 165gr RNFP were the worst behaving with plated.
My P2000SK in 40S&w did better than the Kahr's but still not as well as plated.
It helped some if loads used were at/near max limit.
The same loads that would give the kahr PM9 an...
I found using plated bullets in short barrel pistols (less than 3.5in) that use polygonal riffling instead of the usual lands/grooves can be a problem.
I have Kahr’s and HK’s in 9mm and 40 s&w that have accuracy trouble when shooting plated stuff – really horrible groups.
I tried lots of...
I am a kahr fan.
I have pm9 with @ 3k rounds thru it without any troubles.
I recently purchased a VERY lightly used p45.
After 20rnds thru the p45 the barrel hood and inside of slide had more polish marks than when I bought it!
I have since cut the grip down to use the pm45 5rnd and pm45...
On the 721 I have, the front ramp is soldered onto the barrel.
The front sight in not an integral part of the front ramp.
The front ramp has a dove-tail on top to mount the front sight.
This is a link to remington 721 front sight on Numrich web site...
I recently received a hand me down 721.
For some reason my Uncle thought it was a good idea to grind both front and rear sights down to the level of the dovetail on the barrel.
Thankfully the barrel or front sight mount has not been touched.
I want to remove the sight bases from the...
I almost purchased a new PM45 but found a used P45 and decided to make it a project gun.
I reduced the P45 grip length and now can use the PM45 5rnd magazines.
The recoil of this pistol is a the same felt recoil of my Springfield 1911 commander with alloy frame.
Meaning its is not bad...
Kylaen,
I do not think that you would need a heavier trigger pull.
The trigger travel is long like a revolver.
Unless I had stacked the trigger - knowing it was about to release - I think it would be pretty hard to have an accidental discharge with the Kahr trigger.
It may be a light...
I know it’s not what was originally asked but I thought my experiences with my search for 45 acp CCW pistol may apply/help.
I had been carrying a Springfield compact 1911 alloy frame which has 4in commander length barrel and officers size grip length.
It hides very well and is reasonably...
I have had my PM9 for about 3 years.
I have @ 3000rnds thru it and really like the pistol.
I recently purchased a P45 as a project.
I shortened the grip length to use the 5rnd and 6rnd PM45 mags.
I also reshaped the bulky mag floor plates.
Its no harder to shoot than my springfield 4"...
I have found that I need to change settings on my Dillon Square Deal B when loading 40 S&w cases used in glock or the powder charge is significantly different - like 4gr of w231.
The .40 cases from my brother in-laws gen4 glock end up much shorter than the same ammo/cases when run thru my...
