I've always understood that Williams didn't just build a neat little rifle in jail, he came up with a geniunely new bolt/gas system/something that allowed the rifle to be small and have a fixed barrel.
How bout it? What did he figure out first?

Apparently, it used to be common to apply hot wax to blued guns to protect and seal the finish. It also made the gun look nice(r).
Anybody know how to do this and what kind of wax? I know it's not going to be a spray wax, because the damp carriers would cause rust.

The Cougar thread got me thinking. Most guns with non-tilting barrels have little or no feed ramp. I'm talking about Berettas, most .380s, Older HK fixed barrels, etc.
I can't think of a Browning type that doesn't have one. So my suspician is that you must have a feed ramp to keep the case...
Anybody tried one of these? They come in 4 or 8 power varieties with or without illuminated reticles. The usual reticle is a range finding type used on Russian marksman rifles. Light gathering is supposed to be top notch.
I guess I'm not in need of a scope to the point of dropping $400. But...
