I screwed the full length sizing die down another 1/4 turn and that solved the problem. Would there be any problem with taking off .030" or so off the end of the die so that there is not so much pressure on the shell plate?

There are things that you can do when your barrel starts loosing accuracy. Adjusting your load would be the first.
I call bull on the Browning chart. I have about 2,000 rds. through my 700 and it is still a tack driver. I am not the best at letting her cool down in a target rich enviroment either. I have only shot factory rds through it at this point.
