    Contingency Ruck

I always include a firearm in my emergency ruck. Henry AR-7 or Ruger MkIII, plus 100 rds of hp ammo. This should cover the 'firearm' requirement of this thread.

    RCBS hand priming tool

I started having the same primer flipping problem but fixed it by using a pair of long rubber bands, criss-cross, over the top and bottom. Problem now fixed. Sometime I need to upgrade to the new style square primer carrier.

    Silly guns that please us

Don't need it, won't shoot it, but am craving a Remington Tac-14. Although I already have five other 870's, three tricked out defensive models, I always have had the hots for short shotguns.

    Checking cylinder throat size

And thanks again for the link! After reinspecting my gun after today's outing I found that the barrel is still not completely broken it, and that some of what I ASSumed to be leading was actually residue from lube. My cylinder throats are slightly undersized (tight) so I'll get a cutter and...

    Checking cylinder throat size

I have a Ruger New Vaquero that I shoot Brin 12 LSWC sized at .358, using 5.2 gr Unique. After removing the cylinder I can press a boolet fully through it with a fair amount of hand pressure. I can't estimate the actual force used, but it is a tight fit. My loads are +P level and I get a...

Light 357 Magnum handload in 38 Special brass for 357 Magnum revolver?

Little slow on the draw here but I also do NOT recommend any 357-level load in a 38 special case. I tried this once, a long time ago, and somehow one of the 'hot' loads ended up in my practice ammo for my J-frame model 60. No damage to the gun, but my hand and wrist took a month to get over...

    Underpenetrator vs Overpenetraror

Definitely over penetrator - two holes bleed better than one!

Appropriate Response To Being Threatened With A Taser

I would consider it so. Moreover if the threatened-to-be-tazed person has a heart condition, a pacemaker, or is prone to seizures (epileptic) then the tazer threat should be responded to by potentially deadly force.

Our gun show went very well.

A brick is a carton containing ten 50 round individual boxes, a total of 500 rounds. A case is a carton containing ten bricks. A bulk carton may contain up to 550 loose-packed rounds. A bulk case can contain up to 5500 rounds. That is the customary usage down our way. Ron in Texas

    would this bother anyone

No different than buying many surplus weapons from various wars. Only difference is that you KNOW it took a life. I doubt it would bother me, knowing. It sounds like it would bother you though. No harm there. Move on and find a new firearm. Ron in Texas

    s&w N- frame for ccw?

Practice a lot, get to where you can deploy, fire 6, reload, fire 6 more... in your sleep. Then reconsider actually doing it. I love six-shooters but in these times, even my G19 seems barely enough. When TSHTF it's never, ever, like you imagine it will be. All you can do is be proficient...

    sawn off .410

I've got a 12ga Topper that was circumcised back to 18.5 inches. I left the stock 'stock'. The result is the handiest little truck and fishing gun a guy could ask for, and the price was ridiculously cheap. Being a 12ga, I didn't cut the stock back as it would be a handful and accuracy at...

    * Should I sell my ruger 10/22? All advice and opinions are welcome : )

This is not the time to sell. Although you would probably profit slightly, everything else has jumped greatly in value, so any perceived gain is offset by the market. If you insist on getting rid of it, your best bet is doing a swap for something you want more. Then again, 5 years from now...

    gunsmithing kit

I suggest taking a look at http://brownells.com In addition to stocking parts for many common firearms they also sell specialized tool for specific guns, as well as generalized tool kits. Some years ago I purchased their 870 Armorers Toolkit and their AR Armorers Toolkit. Both kits...

    642 Pocket Carry Issue/Solution Pics

You may be forced to go to a different style jean. I routinely carry my 442 in warm weather in the right-front pocket of my rather ample, generously cut, jeans. I house the critter in a Galco PH158 horsehide pocket holster and it is well-nigh undetectable. When these holsters are new they are...

    FMJ 9mm for CCW?

RedBowTies, you can do better than 9mm ball, and legally. Check into Federal 124gr +P EFMJ ammo. Simply put, it is a quasi-hollowpoint that has a gilding-metal overlay on the front, so that it appears to be FMJ, and meets NJ legal criteria by definition. It was introduced about ten years...
