    PB Blaster

Came back from the range with my stainless Steel Ruger Redhawk all cruded up. Sprayed it down with PB Blaster and went to clean it about five minutes later. I never had an easier job of cleaning a stainless steel handgun before. All the black crap just wiped off. Everything but the face of the...

    17 Hornet Hornady brass

I just finished loading up 400 17 Hornets with the brass I shot last prairie dog season. The brass was all Hornady and very disappointing. Lots of split cases. The bigger issues were with the primer pockets. I had to chamfer them as so many had sharp square edges so you could not get a primer...

    Bad primer?

270 Winchester with 50.6grs of IMR 4350, WWLR and 150gr bullet. Loaded 10 and this happened on one of them. No sign of high pressure on any of the ten. Any ideas? Note divot on bolt face next to the ejector plunger.

One of my better ideas is the rifle rest in the photo. I modified a cheap scissors jack to put bag on top, added a bigger base plate, and welded on a small crank handle. The real key to this working well is to have a smooth bench top and thick felt pads on the bottom of the rest. This allows you...

    Case annealing

I broke down and got one of Doug Girauld's case annealers. http://www.giraudtool.com/annealer1.htm My goal was to get more consistent prairie dog loads with my usual mixed bag of surplus 223 brass. From all my research annealing doesn't do a whole lot for accuracy, but generally helps make...

    PB Blocker

I've been experimenting with PB Blocker in my 32H&R. Plan on using it in others when the weather breaks. So far I've been to the range 3 times without cleaning the barrel and no sign of leading. A patch comes out fairly clean after about 150 shots so far. Anyone else tried it yet...

    brass catchers

I'm getting tired of loosing brass. Our club bought the brass catcher in an ammo can. At $100 it's way over priced and very limited. Not worth much in any breeze. I'm going to make one and am looking for ideas. Anyone have any photos of theirs that works to post?

    air pistols

Bought one of these to practice with: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=910621&t=11082005 It seems to work very well. Worked perfect with 50 or so BB's on the first try. Seemed to shoot where it looked. I need to build a trap so I can really test. I've given up...
