right on esheato. I generally ask a question as a very last resort if my own searching fails which has been pretty much never given google.

History Channel's "Top Shot" on Sunday night

What a great series. I thought it started off a bit clichéd in places but I didn't go off half cocked whining and grizzling like the some of the silly derisive early comments I saw here. I thought the show was nicely balanced. In the end all the non-shooting moments really built up pictures...

Are we fighting the wrong battles?

All you've done is penalise anyone who abides by the restriction and shifted the advantage further over to the criminals who are hardly going to be stupid enough to wake up one morning and cherry pick assorted firearms regulations to abide by. Do you think a criminal is going to abide by a 15...

How is the UTG free-float handguard?

A car is not an absurdly simple lump of aluminium. You may as well compare a Boeing jet.

How is the UTG free-float handguard?

The leapers/utg stuff I've used such as rings etc are perfectly fine. When it comes to chunks of aluminium there's little point paying more for the same thing. Can't justify it.

    Dragunov Tigr

The thing is that letters are actually noted while online petitions carry no legitemacy whatsoever and no government organisation would touch one with a bargepole. Might have some statistical interest though if not to many people multiple sign. I'd sign anyway but I'm from NZ.

    PSL Romak 3

They definitely ship out Dragunov Tigrs that have grouped over an inch. My 620mm Tigr shipped out with the Izhmash booklet saying "The extreme spread of impacts when firing at a 100-m range (three four-shot groups) is: - over iron sight 37mm" MOA = 29.1mm over irons 1.3 MOA sounds just...

    intimidated by getting into ak's.

If you are going to get an AK get the genuine Russian Kalashnikov which is the Saiga. Manufactured at what is the source of true Kalashnikovs, Izhmash where Kalashnikov himself worked. You really can't get closer to a real AK than the real AK... Sure it has been mildly dressed up to comply...

    Dragunov Tigr

Far out, this place is over moderated. If I lived in the US I'd certainly make an effort to email the authorities like AnimeFanatic5602 recommended. I own a Tigr here in NZ and it is a great rifle in my opinion. As AnimeFanatic said, it is the civilian version of the SVD (although...

Bear attacks Japan tourists, shot dead in shop

The link needs fixing. For what it's worth wikipedia says the following about Japan's gun situation "Japan prohibits gun possession by citizens unless sporting or hunting which is limited to shotguns and rifles that are single shot (semi-auto and full auto are restricted to military and...

    Gas piston rifle testing.

yeap the dust test is also linked through to army times in post #3 but good recap from a different website. What I'm curious to know is how long have the US army have been recommending the light lubrication that saw the m4 produce 9,836 stoppages in an earlier lubrication test...

    AR Trend or Fad?

Of interesting note is that the m4s in the above dust test adhered to the findings in an earlier lubrication test that recommended heavy lubrication to increase reliability. Without this heavy lubrication there were a tremendous amount of stoppages...

    AR Trend or Fad?

Nice 1848, goes to show well made GP ARs are definitely not lagging behind their DI counterparts. Yes the Swedish AG-42B Ljungman and Egyptian Hakim also vent DI gas into the open once the carrier has travelled rearward sufficiently. I'd imagine designers would be less concerned about...

    AR Trend or Fad?

David Fortier admitted thinking gp would be comparatively less accurate but found otherwise. http://www.pof-usa.com/Fortier72006.pdf dispatch55126 I would wager that if the AR had similarly priced DI and GP systems that it would only be a matter of time before the GP variant dominated it...

    AR Trend or Fad?

I'd say future development will without doubt be steering toward gas piston ARs with ever increasing popularity. The fact of the matter is that DI, while certainly adequate in general, is not optimal as seen in American Special Operations Command decisions and the telling GP monopoly in...
