I didn't have to strip mine, as it was new wood. It was dry, and now looks perfect.
1Kperday. Yeah I was referring to the Special grade $995. That is what I got. Basically a new rifle. I was interested in mine for the low serial#, and the armorers said they would rather have a Special, over the 895 Service grade special.
General I have a brand new M1A, and my new to me M1...
General Disarray All CMP rifles come with a certificate of authenticity. Special grade should have the cartouche on the stock like you said. Other than that the rest of the parts should be the same manufacturer, and freshly parkerized. There are no other marks though.
I have both a M1a, and...

Mags, looks like you are on the right track, but I do not think you are getting any reliable results to pick a load. It looks more like you just shot a little better on a couple of them. Sandbags are fine to use, and I think better than a lead sled. Especially with a little .223. Eotech is...
JD. Loosen your locking ring on your die. Unscrew the die 5 turns. Put a sized case in your case holder and raise the ram all the way.
Then tighten the die down slowly until you feel resistance. This should be the case mouth contacting the crimp area inside the die. Loosen the die a half...
