I do not like those that will not fire without the magazine.
Is there a quick reference for those autoloaders that will work without the magazine inserted? And which are the ones that are easily modified to operate without the magazine?

I have an opportunity to get a Poly Tech M-14 clone with an S&K scope mount, a Weaver 2x10 scope, and a Harris bipod. Also 200 rds ammo and a 30 rd mag. He's asking $1,000.

I have a chance to buy a Remington 770 in 30-06 for $300. It has only been fired 7 times by the owner and I know it has not been abused. he bought it right before Christmas. Reason for selling is he fell in love with a new BAR.
Any advice?
My dad has a 50-70 Trapdoor that was converted around 1866.
The bolt and nut that form the hinge pin for the trapdoor are missing.
Does anyone know where I could obtain a replacement?

I purchased a S&W Model 59 and loaded some 105 grain Lee wadcutters that refuse to feed properly from the magazine. They catch on the top of the chamber and jam.

If taper crimp is the way these cartridges should be finished, then why do not all the dies come with a taper crimp die instead of a roll crimp.
Why is a roll crimp die provided at all?
If a "factory crimp" is ideal, then why don't all the die makers just produce this die with each set and...
