    Benelli R1

Another R1 (30-06) owner chiming in..... Have not shot it much; maybe 50-75 rounds. Accuracy was between 1-1.5 inches with factory and about an inch with reloads (165 gr). My gun hates reloads, will not put them into battery. Likely rectified with small bases dies...? All that said, I like the...

Looks like the painc is really setting in

Same reason why folks find collectability in Pre-64 Winchester 94s; are they any better than Mirouku 94s? To each their own...

That is fancy shooting for most folks, let alone a five year. Awesome

    Adding another to the collection

I always wanted one when I youngster. I got a little older and bought the BK9 from Ka Bar. Way too big to really use, in my opinion. Maybe the Ka Bar iteration of the crewman is just as good as Camillus? I presume the spine is quite thick on both makes.

What is the last gun that you bought?

My Daddy and I got a Savage 99 (circa 1953) in .300 Savage and a Remington 673 in .308 for $600 total. Daddy also did some horsetrading with the boy on autobody work and got a 45-Remington 1187 with a smooth bore and a cantilever rifled barrel in 20 bore. Before that an old family friend gifted...

help me pros and cons Franchi affinity 3 or 3.5 vs cz1012

I have both, use the Affinity and haven't shot the CZ. Both are nice but I prefer the Franchi's feel. You won't go wrong either.

20 Gauge (and 12) Sabot Slug Shortages

I don't run Remington Accutips in 20 bore but in 12 bore they shoot well in a 870 and 1100. I have heard that the 20 bore shoots much better.

    3 New SAKs

I carry the Executive more than any other knife. Perfect size for me. Nice knives. I have been carrying my silver alox Pioneer and Farmer a lot more lately, too.

Svord: farmers knife and skinner question

I honestly think you can do some filing on that spine to make the blade shape resemble the Farmer's knife. I've always wanted a deluxe Svord model. Enjoy and post a review.

Svord: farmers knife and skinner question

I will echo James.... I reprofiled the edge and refinished the handle. My favorite knife. I use it from skinning all the way to food prep in my kitchen. Again is it too much work for an inexpensive knife? Probably, but I enjoyed the chore.

    Daughter and friend hunting

A tradition is being passed on to a newcomer. Does not matter who is teaching who. Awesome to see youngsters taking up the sport.

    Do you name your guns?

I call a particular .410 single shot "The fatty gauge" and I call Daddy's Beretta 390 "Ol' Bent Barrell" or "Italiain Trash". Note: I love Italian shotguns...

Where are you casters getting your lead?

Wheel weights because Daddy works in the automotive business. He gets the wheel weights from the dealership for free and traded a boy who owns the muffler shop a 15 pack of Keystone light for 2 overflowing 5 gallon buckets of wheel weights.

    First Deer, Lots to Learn

Nobody is born knowing how to do it. Good on you. I'll dressed and butcher a good number of deer, it still probably looks like a drunk did the cutting sometimes too. Congrats, Tex. EJ

Tell us - what knives on you RIGHT NOW!

Tidioute #14 Lick Creek Boy's knife. Finally cooled down and I can carry a 1095 blade without fear of surface rust appearing all over... EJ

So I get a smoking deal on this slug gun. What slugs are you all using.

Don My (870) and Daddy's (1100) slug guns do well with Remington accutips in the 2 3/4 size. My 870 is in a 3 inch but Daddy's is 2 3/4 but both shoot lovely at 100 yards. The slugs are about 5 dollars every time you pull the trigger. If you want to go the casting route, I can post some...

    Gun shop and range idiocy

I showed one boy who worked at the local gun shop how to insert a magazine plug in a 870 for a customer when I was probably 18 years old. I am 26 years old and he still won't help me till this day. Likely ten years my elder...

    Southeastern bowhunting

All Fantastic advice and appreciate all of the input. Yesterday I did my first bow hunt on the ground. My initial concerns were not the problem, my problem was deer coming in and cruising the dove field corn strips that I could not see but only hear. I ordered a sit n climb after that...
