    Eye relief question

Just a followup- I realize the eye relief will not be unlimited, just wondering if it will be the same with both eyes open.

    Eye relief question

I noticed today Nikon has a 1x20 Buckmasters scope available. Since there's no magnification would that allow you to aquire a target with both eyes open as with a tube sight?

    1911 brass cruncher

How many rounds have you fired since the last recoil spring change? If this spring goes soft, it may close too fast or hard, causing issues. I'd start with that...

    Leupold VX-II Sunshade

I'm not sure about the sunshade issue, but the rings I've liked for Savage round top receivers are the Warne Maxima 2 piece (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=521143).

Kimber Pro Carry II wear patterns

There's not really anything contacting the slide rails there other than the slide itself.

What rifle would be ideal for hunting in Michigan?

Having grown up in Minnesota, we used pretty much nothing but Marlin and Winchester 30-30 lever action guns...

Springfield XD 4" Compact 45 versus Kimber Pro Carry II

Trying out both, my issue with the XD was its thickness; with just a loose shirt, it really wants to print.

Glock 36 or Glock 26....opinions please?

I'd have to vote on the 26, I put thousands of rounds through mine, never a problem. My dad has a Glock 36, has had lots of jams with it, having talked to the gunsmith, he said he's seen a lot of issues with the 36's, seems to be related to the magazines. I tried it myself to make sure it...

    Opinions on "pinky dangling" handguns?

It seems most people fire better without the pinkie floating midair. The question then becomes, how much less accurate will you be in an emergency situation? I wouldn't shoot competition with a short grip gun like that, though I wouldn't hesitate to carry.. just need to practice with it. It...

    .22LR stopping power?

If someone comes at you with a knife, and you shoot them with a 22LR pistol, you'll be dead from knife wounds before they die from bullet wounds... unless your shot placement is insanely good at 5' in an emergency draw.

    Best 1911 Manufacture

I'd have to agree, for the money, there's not a better deal out there than the Springfield 1911 Milspec. Staying between 700 - 1000, I'd go with a Kimber.

Springfield XD 4" Compact 45 versus Kimber Pro Carry II

I'm not trying to start any wars here, just debating which gun to carry, looking for some feedback. The 1911 is certainly thinner, and more stable at really low temps (I grew up in Minnesota, so being able to use the gun at -40F is important), and while the XD is thicker, it's less picky on...

    .45ACP vs .45 GAP?

I'm not a big fan of the 45GAP, or any proprietary caliber for that matter. The 30SF is a great gun, will cycle just about any ammo you can find, and will certainly be cheaper to feed.

Best .45 cal under $600...any and all welcome!!

Applied for CCW 6 weeks ago and getting antsy...

When I got mine (Colorado), took almost 3 months to receive it back; this is counting the fact I have a very rare last name, and my fingerprints were "clean." I was told if the fingerprints don't come out very well, it may take longer...

what lubes do you use, and on what guns.

While I used to use Tetra oil, found it took thick and would gum too much. Switched to Remington oil, found it thin enough it didn't offer the protection I wanted, especially on my day to day carry gun. I'm now using Shooters Choice FP10 on everything, so far it's great.

    1911's overrated?

If you're looking at the gun from an accuracy standpoint, then yes, you're spending way more than needed. A Springfield XD is probably just as a accurate as a $1200 Kimber. Having owned many Glocks, Springfields, Rugers, etc, I still swear by my 1911's, there's just something about them no...
