Customize or buy used Les Baer

My thoughts exactly. Sell some blood. Sell a kidney. Sell your kid's kidney. Add the Baer, it will take your .45 collection to another level.

    Anybody Not Like Shooting .357?

I'm ok with fairly strong .357's from a 2" snubby (not lightweight!!!), & strong loads from my 3" sp101. Haven't tried full-house in it yet; don't know if I ever will. Now I'm not a tough guy by any stretch - just some people are way more sensitive to certain stuff. My dad says Winny White...

    Para Ordnance 1911, Anygood?

This thread scared me: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=362606&highlight=para+ordnance+customer+service It's my understanding that at one point they were mediocre, then became real good, and have recently returned to mediocrity. Between reading here and in the Para sub-forum over...

    My 3 inch 357 pics.

Deepsix, the forum search function is alright for questions like you've got, though it sometimes takes a while to pick through the results & find what you're looking for. Just searching for "polish", I clicked on the first link that looked promising, about halfway down the first page of search...

    SP101 .357 concealability

I think my 3" sp-101 conceals as well, and is as comfortable iwb as my G26. Cylinder is thicker, but the frame area above & below the cylinder is thinner, so it doesn't feel any bigger inside the waistband. I think a clipdraw ( http://www.clipdraw.com/ ) on an sp101 with a bobbed or enclosed...

New Additions to the Stable! Two Colts and a S&W...

Nickeled Colt is good lookin' to say the least. All interesting guns, but that one's a standout.

    Glock in .50GI, yowza!

Wow, I'd never heard of this round before today. What a great idea! I'm going to stick to .45ACP due to budgetary constraints (even handloading .50GI would cost more money for new dies, brass, and boolits) and availability of weapons; but maybe someday when finances allow. That's the...

    Thinking about a Springfield GI

I'm just speculating, but since .45ACP is a low-pressure load, I would think that a case would start to split due to repeated belling of the case mouth before the dents ever became an issue. Reloading forum would probably answer that better. I reload, but AFAIK I don't have any .45ACP cases...

That's a good story, and a sad one too. Thank you for sharing that.

    Para-Ordnance Warthawg - Range Report & Warning

Yet another thank you for the warning. I have been eyeing the Para Carry 12, as the double-stack 1911 fits my hand perfectly. Just got back from the gun store where I had convinced myself to buy. Grateful I did some research and found your first-hand experience. Too bad Para is basically the...

Decision, inexpensive .38 special or .357 mag snubbie. Armscor or Rossi or Other?

Indie, if you get the Armscor, a range report with decent pictures would be appreciated... I'd like to see one, just outta curiosity.

    sp.101 & Glock 36

Definitely not intending to offend you, just throwing a wild theory out there, but could it be you just require a little more re-acquainting? Forgive me if I'm wrong. Last summer, I shot my buddy's .44 mag Redhawk (6" or thereabouts) for the first time. I went from scared of it to pretty...

SP101 2" Need some help choosing the model (.38 vs. .357 mag)

Yeah, they say you'll lose some velocity from a .38 fired out of a .357, but I'd rather lose that little bit of velocity and have a lot more ammunition choices... ...such as Buffalo Bore's offering, which does a decent job of addressing the concerns I have about .38+P's weakness, and .357's...

    sp.101 & Glock 36

Those are my thoughts as well. Do you have much experience with handguns? I'm wondering if you just don't need to shoot them some more, get used to them. I can't imagine a carry-sized gun with less kick than a 3" sp101 with 38 specials. Maybe you need to be looking at a large all-steel 9mm...

What ammunition were you shooting in the sp101?

    Ruger SP 101

For car/house, the 3" is pretty obviously the way to go, IMHO. For carry, the 3" will go darn near anywhere the 2.25" will, with the exception of pocket carry. There are a lot less holster choices for the longer barrel, but a little looking around should still come up with something...

    XD Glock M&P

I say see which one fits your hand best and points best. How well they point might be something you can't really tell until more experienced with handguns; but you can sure tell whether the grip fits your hand or not. Try the trigger. Shopping for guns is the only time I pull a trigger...

Just got a G26. How to carry it?

IWB-Appendix here. I'm using a High Noon Hidden Ally (tuckable version of Mr. Softy, which is the non-canted version of the Bare Asset depicted in DawgFVR's post above). This is a very low-riding holster, which is what I wanted for concealment purposes. A higher riding holster would make for...
