Shooting quickly or slowly?
Either way, check to see if the trigger will drop the firing pin if the bolt is held back a few mm from the bolt face (it shouldnt).
Then clean the chamber, bolt, and bolt face thoroughly.
Its never recommended to bridge onto the upper, but people do it and the world doesnt stop spinning. Try it and if you notice any wierd zero inconsistencies to loose groups then start looking for a cantilever mount.
Fixed front sight is ok, but a fixed rear would be highly annoying with a scope.
I like the 21" vent rib remchoke barrel for 3-gun. Lots of nice fiber optic beads for vent ribs and the 21" barrel will match a 8x shot Nordic extended mag tube.
Like everyone else is saying, mod is a good choice for slightly longer shots. I usually bring an IC and a Full just in case, and...
SWFA 1-6x with a 45' offset Burris FastFire 3 on my 3-gun AR. I loved the 1-4x I had, but 4x is a little cramped for distance/precision work. I knew 6x would make me happy shooting groups at 200y from previous experience. The offet fastfire is more for fun than neccessity.
The M&P 15-22 has...
I've got no idea why Easy linked you that part. That's probably the part you already have on the GI sling.
Just get a couple of standard sling loops for normal sling studs and thread the sling through your new loops instead of the old attachment hardware (keeping the obvious bits).
I like...
I find core strength (situps) is necessary for good shooting posture, arms extended etc.
Also leg strength for low leaning and shoulder strength to hold up gun.
General cardio helps for heartrate.
A lot of guns are not sensitive at all to taking the actions out of the stock. Buy an inch-pound torque wrench and do it yourself.
Its literally two screws. The worst that could happen is gun needs to be re-zeroed slightly or you have to fiddle with torque settings a little. Factory torque...
The LGS/indoor range had a full rack of guns 2 weeks ago and plenty of ARs to choose from. Yesterday every last AR was gone, and the indoor range was slammed with people shooting their xmas gifts with family.
Unfortunately, the demand and price gouging probably won't let off until the...
Call the leopard guy, he may have one or two black savage mkii in stock.
+1 for the Boyds Tacticool. DIP has a bottom metal package that will convert a FVSR to a wood stock like the tacticool (you need a different mag plate and a trigger guard to replace the plastic one built into the fvsr...
Brownells doesn't sell firearms... Boycott them too!
If CTG doesn't want to be sell firearms online, that's entirely up to them. Whats the issue? There are plenty of vendors to choose from, and they may have a very legitimate reason to get out of that business.
Not a book, but the Magpul Precision Rifle DVD was awesome and educational.
Appleseed is good too, but they won't teach shooting off bags or a bipod (they teach prone using a sling, and good trigger control tho).
If you ever want to get into silhouette, you'll need to get a rifle that matches the rules for that game.
CZ are very nice build quality, but accuracy on average is slightly behind a Savage (or so it seems). Savages feel like they were built from spare parts from the local hardware store...
