The adjustable rear sight is broken on a friend's .357 Mag Model HW357 revolver made by H. Weihrauch in Mellrichstadt, Germany. Anybody know where I can get a replacement? I have looked at several parts sites with no luck. I would appreciate any suggestions.
I need help finding a replacement stock for a .22 LR semi-auto clip-fed rifle. It is a Harrington & Richardson Leatherneck 165. Modern Guns says it was made from the 1940’s to the 1960’s. It seems to be in working condition with some minor surface rust in spots, but no pitting. The stock is...
I need some advice about cratered primers and pressure. Am developing a load for a Weatherby Vanguard .270 Win using Hornady V-max 110 gr, IMR4831, CCI 200 standard LR primers, and once-fired/partially FL sized RP cases. Shot yesterday one each 58 gr, 59 gr, 60 gr. The 58 gr showed no external...
I am looking for a new or used laminated stock, grey in color, with or without thumbhole, for a Ruger Model 77 long action(magnum) with the tang safety. Can anyone suggest where I can find one?
I recently loaded some .22-250 cartridges for shooting in a Thompson/Center Encore, but several of the primers would not fire on the first attempt. The loads are 55 gr Vmax, 36 gr Varget, Winchester Large Rifle(WLR) primers, 1X brass. The primers and powder are newly purchased. The primers that...
I just posted a WTB in the Trading Post section, but thought it might be a good idea to also ask for input here. I need a new or used Timney, or equivalent, replacement trigger for my Ruger M77 with tang safety in .338 Win Mag. I am not a gunsmith, but have good mechanical skills and need to be...
Oscar Orum,
I never did get any help on this subject. Had some suggestions about how to make a hopper, but nothing that was within my capabilities. I still use my Saeco, but the hopper is held in place with packaging tape wrapped around the base. Let me know if you find a source.
For all you Winchester Model 55 single-shot rimfire people, a replacement cover(loading ramp) can be purchased at Outback Gun Parts 812-945-0480. I just ordered mine, so do not yet know how they look. They are aftermarket manufactured, not original Winchester parts.
Thanks everybody! I'm out of trouble. The bolt was on half-cock. All I had to do was pull back on the cocking piece to the full cock position. That fixed the problem. I also learned how to remove the bolt by holding down on the little keeper as the bolt was pulled back. Also learned that because...
Just bought my 1943 .303 British Enfield No 4 Mk1. I was trying to figure out how to remove the bolt and somehow managed to lock the bolt into the closed and locked position. No matter what I do with the safety or anything else, I cannot raise the bolt handle. Removing the magazine does not...
Yes, I have seen pics of that portable Pacific device, but this aluminum/steel measure is much larger and obviously not meant to be portable. In the first pic, that steel rod is 1/2" dia x 9" long.
I need some help identifying this powder or shot measuring and dispensing device. The working end of it is all cast/machined aluminum attached to a threaded steel rod. The aluminum disc that contains the measuring cavity flips, with the touch of a finger, back and forth very smoothly between the...
These very well made, but unmarked, tools came recently in a box of misc handloading stuff. They appear to be volumetric measuring devices, maybe for powder. The cylinders are brass, rods are stainless?, and the locking devices are steel. The long one has graduations from 0 to 50 and the shorter...
I am looking for ideas on max loads for strong, modern rifles, such as a Ruger #1 in 7 x 57 Mauser using primarily Nosler 140 gr Accubond, or equivalent, bullets for deer/black bear hunting. I may also decide to use 150 or 160 gr. I want to approach the limits for this rifle/cartridge combination.
