I'm a self-admitted purist when it comes to the 1911. Only internal extractors for me. A couple of friends have S&W and Sig 1911 pattern pistols and they run fine. I've heard a lot of bad stuff about the external extractors that Kimber were using for awhile but have no first hand knowledge.

Gen 1 Glocks do seem hard to find, but I they tend to sell for the same price as any other used Glock. The HK will sell for a premium. I would take the Glock for a shooter.

The ATF treats simple clerical errors like a crime. There was probably no intent to commit a crime and this sales person is just a fall guy. It would be nearly impossible to do thousands of 4473s over a span of time and not have one mistake due to human error.

My older eyes like the plain black "U" notch 10-8 rears with Dawson fiber fronts.

I use to have the .45 and now have the 9mm. I've not experiance any trouble with either of them. I also know 5 or 6 other people that have them. Their experiance has also been postive.

I use to have the .45 but traded it for something. I picked up the 9mm version yesterday and put 100 round through it today. It handles like a dream.

I've got both the P238 and P938 in my carry lineup. I think the P238 is the best of the micro .380 on the market.
