    When things get really weird...

If you don't like strangers walking up on you, just use social distancing as a polite way to ask them to step back. If they don't comply, tell them you work at a hospital and you really don't want to risk infecting them if you're an asymptomatic carrier, then grab your cart and back up. It's...

    Taurus 605 quality?

I had a 605 from the mid-90s. Solid, very accurate, did go out of time after a while, but most brands have this happen from time to time. Probably worth taking a chance on. I believe Taurus has gone back to lifetime warranties now.

    ACP Revolver

It looks like the OP found an alternate solution, but I'll just point out that Ruger also makes .45LC/.45ACP convertibles for both the Blackhawk and Vaquero.

Legality of Hanging a Gun on the Wall in Washington State

Do note, however, that SEATTLE has its own safe storage law, despite state preemption. It has yet to be overturned. So, if you live in Seattle proper, then you're looking at a whole other "law" to deal with, at least for now.

Legality of Hanging a Gun on the Wall in Washington State

    Here's a link to the WA AG's office FAQ on i1639: https://www.atg.wa.gov/initiative-1639 Specifically: https://www.atg.wa.gov/initiative-1639#6%20secure%20storage

Fascinating CNN piece on an ATF case

It looks like this hinges on the definition of "firing mechanism," then? If so, what is the definition? If not, what am I missing?

Why is .30 Carbine not made in rifles other than the M1?

So, update it from an 78 year old design to a more modern 63 year old design? :D j/k It would be interesting to see the cartridge in some other configurations. All I know of are the M1 Carbine and Ruger offering in a single action revolver at one point. Edit: Almost forgot the Automag III.

    Walmart consolidation thread

I don't think getting into bed with Bloomberg constitutes respecting gun owners, but YMMV.

    Walmart consolidation thread

The link was posted by P5 Guy on the first page of the thread. Here it is again, so you don't have to dig back for it: https://tennesseefirearms.com/2019/09/walmart-partners-with-everytown-for-gun-safety-and-michael-bloomberg-to-advance-gun-ban-agenda/

    Right, so we agree.

    Understanding "Stand Your Ground" Law

Perhaps I misread your tone. It sounded an awful lot like you were trying to correct me on the facts of the case, when I wasn't arguing them. Add to that the fact that Kleanbore is still asserting that you can't use force to stop an assault, even though it's clearly spelled out in the FL law I...

    Understanding "Stand Your Ground" Law

Again, I never said McGlockton was justified. It doesn't seem that he is, looking at the video. I said had he been justified. You seem to be having a hard time wrapping your head around hypotheticals. Jesus, you should pay attention to what you're reading before jumping up and pounding your...

Cute. So you lack an actual argument, then?

    Understanding "Stand Your Ground" Law

I'm pretty sure you didn't read my entire post. You should go read my entire post. Because I never said or implied any of what you're whining about here.

    Understanding "Stand Your Ground" Law

I'd advise you to read the FL assault statute. Here, I'll quote it for you: So, if the argument rises to the level of assault, it has the following elements: 1. Intent 2. Unlawful threat to do violence 3. Apparent ability to do so 4. Creates a well-founded fear ... that such violence is...

    Understanding "Stand Your Ground" Law

Which is what I said in my first post. I didn't say that it was necessarily the case here, only that it was a possibility. You have yelling. The content of the yelling may have just been argumentative. But if the yelling was threatening, and if the proximity to the vehicle was close enough that...

    Understanding "Stand Your Ground" Law

You responded to a single sentence. "The mere speaking of words" can rise to the level of assault under FL statute (and most jurisdictions in the US, AFAIK), and if it did, then the shove would have been justified. As I said, we don't know (or at least I don't) if this was the case, it was just...

    Understanding "Stand Your Ground" Law

He was in a verbal altercation with the victim's significant other. I don't know how aggressive he was being, or to what level he went with his verbal tirade about the parking, but it's possible the victim thought he was a threat to his SO. I haven't seen the video since the first time it was...

    Cheap but surprisingly refined knives?

Watch your fingers with that one. I've had horrendous luck with the bargain Kershaws. Got one of those starter packs with two knives for about 15 bucks at Walmart a few years ago, and the liner lock failed by just not having any flex in it. I unlocked the knife one time, and the liner just...

    30-30 quote

Waaay back in the early 80s, I read a magazine article about a guy who took a .30-30 on an African safari and took quite a bit of larger game animals with it. The gist of the article was that within its range, the .30-30 was capable of taking any game in North America, and quite a bit of other...
