I found a small 22 auto that is branded Sig arms - Hammerelli Trailside. I have been looking for a good reliable 22 auto practice gun and this one looks in very good shape and is available for $100. Is this a good unit? Anyone have experience with this model?

HST should be an easy replacement for Hydra-Shock

I recieved my Federal HST this week. Both 45acp and 9mm. The 45 has the exact same cartridge case and bullet profile as Hydra-Shock. So, it stands to reason that any gun that feeds Hydra-Shock reliably should feed HST just the same. I have yet to shoot it, so I don't know if the POI will be the...

Defensive shooting practice is a whole new world.

I attended a CCW self defence class this week. It was a real eye opener. Unlike most classes around here, this instructor compiled an extensive live shooting portion of the class. He started out easy with slow fire target at 10 feet and quickly ramped into multiple assailant rapid fire shooting...

    The Midway "handling" charge

Recently, I started to purchase some revolver clips from Midway. Upon check out, I found that they assessed a "handling fee". Apparently, handling fees are assessed when you make purchases smaller than $20. I was not real thrilled with this fee. In fact, I will go on the record and say that it...

    Calling all Taurus 905 Owners ! ! !

Anyone who owns a Taurus 905 who is either unhappy with the factory Stellar clips or is having trouble getting clips, I have just spoken with the people at Ranch Products. He is making a couple prototype clips for me to evaluate for use in the 905 Taurus Revolver. These clips will basically...

Fun Junker - Iver Johnson 55

I picked up a 22lr revolver for a plinker today. It was so cheap and like new so I just had to give it a try. It is an Iver Johnson 55 in 22lr. It is a homely and peculiar little gun. You remove the cylinder to reload it and the shells actually have to be punched out with removable cylinder...

    Taurus 940 9mm

Taurus 905 9mm I had been wanting a 9mm revolver. The suspects were: S&W 940 Ruger Service Six Ruger SP101 Taurus 905 I happened upon a new Taurus 905 in the box today for $275. I was a little reluctant because of the mixed reviews on Tauruses in general. However, most of what I read said...

    auto caliber revolver frienzy

It is an interesting thing to watch how everyone wants a revolver in 9mm or 45 acp all at once. Smith and Ruger quit making many models presumably because they weren't selling, now everyone seems to want one and the prices are soaring. I want a few more too, but I refuse to pay a premium just...

Grips for N Frame Round Butt 45 acp

I have a 625-3 S&W and I wish to find a set of grips for it. I am concerned about finding N frame round but grips that will have clearance for loading and unloading with moon clips. I kind of like the Pachmyer grips. Anybody have those or something similar that does have plenty of clearance for...

    Adjusting press fit rear sites.

My PX4 shoots 2.5 to 3 inches to the right at 15 yards. Anybody know how many thousandths to move the rear site to the right to correct that amount? There is 5 7/8" between the front and rear site.

    S&W 625 accuracy issues

I brought my 625-3 4" to the range today. It was not as accurate as I expected. I noticed a pattern of the point of impact running upward during firing. Specifically, the first two rounds would be dead on but the subsequent rounds would run up the target about 4 to 5 inches. This happened...

    45 acp range shootout P-345 vs. PX4 vs. 625-3.

Today I had the opportunity to go to the pistol range. The exciting part was that I would be testing out two newly acquired guns. The first gun is a new Beretta PX4 in 45acp. The second gun is a used Smith & Wesson 625-3 4" revolver in 45acp. And, finally, my primary pistol - the Ruger P345 in...

GunFlation - and a run on guns

Gun sales and prices in my area are skyrocketing. Gun shoppes are reporting brisk sales and the price of used guns is increasing quite rapidly. I don't think this is unique to the southeast either. I was poking around some old guns for sale threads from the around 2005 to 2006 and I was very...

    Norinco NHM-91 (ak-47) questions.

We were shooting my Norinco NHM-91 (ak-47) today for the first time. It had never been fired before. It truly is a dream to shoot. Low recoil and pretty much dead on without any site adjustment needed. However, there were a few things of concern. I would like to see if anyone else had a similar...

First time with the M1A at the range.

I shot my recently procured Springfield M1A Loaded at the range today. I also brought along an NHM-91 ak-47 that had never been fired as well. Both rifles were a pleasure, but the M1A made me a believer in one sitting. I have long admired the M1A and finally found the right deal at the right...
