M37 no dash, just couldn't help myself

So, I was in the shop my brother works in a couple weeks ago and they were checking in as&W revolvers they bought from an estate collection. One of them was a very tight m37 no dash in nickel. It looked and felt like a new gun. So, naturally at the "family" price I could not pass it up. Home...

Found the WST Floor - 50 Yard Testing

As a bullseye shooter I generally look for the lightest load that still provides the accuracy I'm looking for. Consequently, I tend to load hotter loads for 50 yards as it's slow fire and recoil recovery isn't a big deal. I'm looking for true accuracy. In that regard I'm loading 4.6 grains of...

    What do you guys think?

So, my brother works part time at a range and there is a gun shop in there. I was browsing this weekend and came across a colt SAA. It's a sheriffs model in 44 special. According to the shop it's a 1980 model but is mint condition, like brand new. It came from a collector. The price tag is...

    International Pistol

So, I've been shooting bullseye for some time, and really enjoying myself. On Saturdays through the second week of April I'm shooting in a winter league that is just a NMC league. 30 rounds per shooter. After that match I'm heading over to another club to shoot an International Pistol Match...

    Uncle Ted isn't an Anti-Semite!

I'm a member of the Jewish pro-gun group the Zelman Partisans. It's a group founded by former JPFO members, including Brad Alpert, owner of Missouri Bullet Company. He posted this today. They offered to open a dialogue with Ted after the recent dust-up where he was accused of being anti-Jewish...

Last time you cleaned your seating die?

So I load a fair amount of 38, shooting Bullseye, PPC, and other matches with 38s. Around about 15k per year. I've noticed the last couple days that occasionally I was damaging the top of HBWC. Nothing major, just cosmetic. So today I went ahead and took my seating die apart. I'm not going to...

    Looking for AA#2?

OK everyone I've sat on this for awhile and replenished my stocks, so I want to share this. There are lots of guys in here looking for AA#2. It seems impossible to find. That being said I did some research on new powders when I was running low. My search led me to Shooters World Clean Shot...

    Highest velocity in 38 w/158

Okay, let's have some fun. My dad received a LCR 38 for Christmas(you're level one Dad!) am done it's time to get him some carry ammo. I normally load my dad 158gn LSWC over 3.5 gm of WST. Great and accurate load. He is looking for more fire concealed carry. Let's start off with a few caveats...

    7.62x54R, where to buy?

I've been looking around to buy my dad a 440rd can of 7.62x54R for Christmas. Anyone know the best place to pick one up? It seems gunbroker for 129+shipping may be the best deal.

    New to me 10-5 snubby

Brought home a new to me 10-5 snubby today. There is a little haze in spots where it sat in a holster for years. I'll try to get as much of it out as I can, but I'm not too worried about it. Took it out and shot it. Typical older smith, shot like a dream and a nice trigger. The gun was...

    Your favorite cast bullet profile

As the title says I'm curious what everyone has for a favorite cast bullet profile in each caliber the reload. 158 grain SWC? 45 ACP 200 grain SWC? Let's hear it. Mainly looking for your most loaded bullet in 9mm/40/45/38-357. Also, do you prefer bevel base or flat base?

Your opinion on a match idea

We have a fairly new indoor range facility in out town that us owned by a friend of mine. I currently run a bullseye league there and have been looking at running some special matches. He has basically told me we can do whatever we want as far as the matches go, as it's business in the door...

    A new level of frustration

As we all know we are never truly happy with what we have. When I first started shooting bullseye I dreamed of shooting a 260 on the NMC. Then it was a 270. Then a 280, etc. I have nailed perfect 100s, they always make me smile. This week was a first. I shot a 285-16x, which is quite...

    Got my newest trophy tonight!

I've posted a few threads on my comeback to bullseye after having a stroke last season. Tonight at our Wednesday rimfire league we got our trophies from the spring league. The spring league is a centerfire league, I shot it with my model 19 S&W. I won handily on points. Without further...

    New best score tonight!

I'm not much of a 22 guy but I went ahead and agreed to run a 22 only league at a indoor range in my hometown. We run our different than most as we use the standard 25 yard targets and shoot at 25 yards. Tonight I hit a 289 with the rimfire! I was pretty stoked. Below is my slow fire target...

    Got my new plaque

Today I received my plaque from the Illinois Police Association. At the matches held four times a year you can place in either Bullseye, 22 Bullseye, or Police Combat. I've shot two matches so far and placed three times. These are statewide competitions held at seven locations across the state.

    Have I mentioned lately…

How much I still love my pro1000? Loaded up another 350 rounds tonight in 1hr20min including filling primer tray and case feeder. I've posted a few times before about it and did an unboxing and setup thread with BDS when I bought it. It's still chugging along. The interesting points to note...

    First place in Bullseye League

Well one of my bullseye leagues wraps up next week. We shot the second to last match tonight. Last week I hit a 283-13x and this week a 279-7x. At this point I cannot mathematically lose first place, even if I don't shoot next week. This will be my first time winning a first place league...

    Shooting first combat match

As the title says I'll be shooting my first Police Combat Match Wednesday. The IPA(Illinois Police Association) has these matches four times a year. It's two parts, one a 480 combat match and the other a Bullseye match. Anyone else here shoot the combat matches? Any advice?

Anyone here live in Central Illinois?

We are starting a new league at our brand new indoor range in Litchfield, IL. It's a beautiful facility, well lit and spacious called Shooters Retreat. Anyway this is a hybrid league of sorts based on Bullseye shooting. It will be the National Match course of fire all fired at 25 yards. It's a...
