    Phillips Arena Georgia

I went there to see Nine Inch Nails a couple of years ago and they were patting lots of people down and wanding all of them. They still missed my knife but they wouldn't have missed my firearm if I had been wearing it.

    what a cool wife

It's not easy to find a good one when it comes to firearms. I have to give mine a mention here as well. She's always saying things like, "We don't have enough ammo. We have to go get more." and "If you come home with another gun, it had better be for me." and "I think I want another HK."...

    Never Fired?

I have a couple of shoguns that I don't remember shooting but that would be very uncharacteristic of me. I don't normally pick up anything new without a live ammo function test. This does remind me of the guy that bought the only original .45acp chambered Luger (there were two but last I heard...

    Favorite Cheap Gun Purchase

A few years ago a friend of mine brought in a pillow case full of rattling parts. Exasperated, he said, "Can you get this damn thing back together for me?" "Ummm...I don't know. What is it?" I said. He told me it was his Ruger MkII. He had disassembled it to clean it and had been trying to get...

    Oh, the ignominy...

Sounds like a riddle. What do you call an un-armed security guard on a ship? A passenger.

How long does it take to order something from Springfield?

A friend of mine ordered an XD40 and got it in a week or two. I ordered a 1911 in December and got it in March I think. I only got it then because one of the old employees had one that he never even removed from the pistol case and decided to trade it in on something else. Don't know how much...

    M9 vs 1911

I personally have never been in combat but I do have a lot of friends that have done or are doing some combat time in either Iraq, Afghanistan or (in most cases) both. I have noticed that when you mention the M9 they get this sour look and start in with various horror stories about having to use...

    Taurus Owners

I've had a PT92 for over a decade and, like texaspunk, prefer it to the Beretta. At least they know that the safety doesn't belong on the slide. Have plenty of guns with much better triggers but it's mostly a plinker anyway. As far as the revolvers go, I've yet to meet one that I liked. I'm sure...

    Another sticky vote here.

Here's how I spent the election night..

Cool pics. My 4 year old little girl likes to help me reload.

    Why 18" Barrels For Shotguns?

Correct me if I'm wrong here but I think that short barreled shotguns are classified as AOW. The tax stamp for AOW transfer is $5 not $200. The tax stamp for AOW manufacture is $200. Have they changed this recently?

Did you start with a .22LR?

Not counting BB guns. My experience with firearms started at 10 years old. Ruger Blackhawk with magnum loads/black powder rifle. The first guns owned were a Marlin lever action in .35Rem. and a 20g single shot shotgun. Didn't pay attention to who made it but I was 11 years old. The first firearm...

What are the most ANTI-gun movies?

Depends on the writer of that particular episode. In some episodes The Doctor is handing out weapons and giving tactical advice. In others it turns into an obnoxious "anti" screed. The more frothing at the mouth episodes are mostly written by a newer writer that may not be getting much more work...

What can I do to improve my shooting?

Something I've done in the past for dry fire practice is balancing a penny on your front sight. Keeping the penny balanced through the trigger press gives you something else to focus on and puts the mechanics of the trigger press more into the subconscious areas of your brain. I find that I get...

    AR15 build question

Thank for the links. Couldn't find my "MB" stamp on the biggerhammer site but it's just curiosity. Been curious about a lot over the years. I either figure it out or get over it. Love the post on mdshooters. Makes me want to set up the machine shop in the basement that much more.

    AR15 build question

I've built an "evil black rifle" from collected parts. Bushmaster complete lower and Model 1 bolt assembly but I bought the upper from my dad's surplus of AR uppers. He's had them for quite some time and they were all in good shape, if a little dusty. Everything fits snug and goes bang every...

Tanfoglio TZ-75 on the way - what to expect?

I owned oner for a few years. Couldn't find a thing with it. Well, DA coulda been better but over all, it was a nice firearm. I only sold it because I realized I hadn't fired it in a couple of years and thought I'd liqiudate it to put toward financing another 1911.

what is your primary carry gun

99% of the time over the last 12 years it's been my HK USP40. Once in a while I'll carry it's little brother USP40c. If I have to wear a tie and tuck in but no jacket, I have a first generation AMT380 backup in single action that rides on my ankle. I'll probably add my Springfield 1911 to the...

    Beretta PX-4 Sub-Compact - Mine, mine, mine!!

I rented the full size (in .40s&w) for a test drive a few months ago and liked it alot. Shot well. Kept tight groups. I would've stayed and put a couple more boxes of ammo through it but the arthritis in my wrists was flaring that day and it was getting uncomfortable.

DC Plans To Implement System For Registering Guns, Draft New Legislation

Bush appointed both Roberts and Alito. Both good choices in my opinion.
