    .17 Mach IV

The friend of mine who owns the rifle does not reload. He is in PA and I am now in NC (WV then NJ before that). To make Mach IV brass from .221 FB requires at least three dies. ( I might be wrong about that) I used to do all of his reloading when I lived in NJ (74 miles) but not now living in NC...

It does happen one second of inattention can be distarouis. Years ago I was at the range working up a load for a friends rifle. Cheapest complete AR lower

One has to be careful on auction sites, I bid 35.00 on a lower, after the BP, transfer, shipping CC charge and then the transfer fee at my local dealer it would have been over $100.00 for a no name lower. When I was called for payment I told them just to restock it. it cost me 10.33

California's Ammo background check struck down again

The trouble is some stores will not get the memo. Back in NJ 40 some odd years ago one needed an ID card to buy ammo, then NJ changed the law so one did not need an ID card. But some stores still would ask for a ID card when purchasing ammo. CCI 100 pack $1.97!

Almost fell over when I found this

My dad was never a big gun guy, most likely because his cousin shot him in the leg rabbit hunting. I was always interested in guns from a very young age and read every thing I could get my hands on. Years later I became a LEO and attended the FBI and NRA MOI course. When I moved from WV to the...

What is the nicest gun you were ever given as a gift?

In the mid 70's I had bought a 1906 Mannlicher for $250.00 is was 99%+ I knew a FFL dealer who was also a Police officer in the town I lived in. He would only buy a gun for his collection that was 98% or better, when he saw that MS he had to have it, I sold it to him for a small profit with the...

,45 APC head stamped FA 1917 I shot in the mid 70's When trying to reload I found cases from 1917-1942 had a primer pocket smaller than standard and would not take a LPP.

Good/Bad Areas and What to Carry

The worst thing a Knight in the middle ages could say is "I am only going down to the corner. I don't need to put on my armor"

Proposed regulation forbids junk and bogus add on fees.

How did they try and justify charging a hazmat fee on a roll of wire, or do they just add on a hazmat fee to every purchase? You don't pay a hazmat fee when you purchase powder or primers from a local GS.

Hoard of old Gunmags (the reading kind)

Back in the 70's-80's I was subscribed to a half dozen gun magazines, and looked forward every month to what was new. It then got to the point where a lot of the issues were rehashing old articles (pet loads for the .357 etc). I let my subscriptions run out soon after that. When I moved from NJ...
