    Top 3 Concealed Carry Handguns...

I think I have distilled it to these three... Glock 27 (or 26) = perfect combination of size, firepower, caliber, reliability, rugged design SW 642 j-frame revolver= reliable, proven design, you can carry this 95% of the time. contact shots in a close quarter situations. LCP= can carry...

    Sw 586

A friend of mine is thinking of selling his SW 586 (very good condition, looks new with very minor holster wear at the tip of the barrel). There is no internal lock and the hammer is the type that has the "pointy" thing to fire the bullet. (It's the older design hammer.) The dealer offered...

Florida vs. Georgia ...who has better laws

Ok...guys (and gals)... argue your case which state is more pro 2nd Amendment... Florida or Georgia? I looked up both states gun laws...and Georgia has laws against carrying in "public gatherings" which seems to general... (and thus seem restrictive)...but they do allow open carry...(which...

Kahr PM9 problems with "unofficial" 8 round mag?

The staff at the local gun store informed me that an 8 round Kahr mag would fit in my Kahr PM9. The PM9 comes with the standard 6 and 7 round mag. There is a larger Kahr model (also 9mm...but can't recall the name of the exact model) that has a 8 round capacity clip. The guys at the store...

Educate me on the .223 caliber..useful for HD?

Been thinking of getting an urban rifle... and I noticed that Wally World has plenty of .223 in stock. How effective is this caliber? For home defense of 7 yards....... or out in the field at 100 yards? Is it worth investing on this caliber? How is it different from .22lr or .22 mag?

    Can I use a Kahr P9 magazine on a Kahr PM9?

Need your input... Went to a dealer to buy a spare Kahr PM9 magazine. They did not have one...but had a Kahr P9 magazine. The staff said that it will work in a PM9 pistol...but will stick out a bit due to it being an 8 round mag. (The PM9 comes with a 6 or 7 round mag.) Since it fits (I...

    New York Reload LCP Style

I heard of the "New York Reload" = meaning, carrying two revolvers for quick for more firepower and not needing to "reload". I thought about carrying TWO LCP (seven rounds of .380 each gun), plus spare mags of course. Does any one out there carry two pocket autos instead of one large auto?

    Appendix carry?

How many of you guys that carry IWB use the strong side appendix carry? (For the right handed person, this would be between the belt buckle and 3:00 position. I sort of cant the gun so that the barrel falls within the crease of my thigh and you-know-what. Just bought a Galco IWB holster...

    Most Gun Friendly Territory

Gentlemen... Which state has the following in place.. 1. "Shall issue" CCW permit 2. Legal to open carry 3. Has a history of both #1 and 2 (so that it is not just a political fad that will more than likely go away) 4. Has "Castle Doctrine" in place

    .357 magnum vs. .38 special +P

I noticed that a .357 magnum bullet was almost identical in length as a .38 special +P. (I realize that they are the same in diameter.) Question: Just how much more effective is a .357 (110gr JHP) vs. the best .38 special JHP? I was looking for descriptive answers (example: bullet penetrates...

How effective is a .22 mag NAA revolver for SD?

I realize that its a mouse gun. And yes...I like bigger calibers. My question is not .22 versus other calibers. Does anyone have examples of .22 mag (not .22lr) NAA revolver and its effect on two-legged predators? Am I wasting time with this mini revolver?

    Gun Idea for NAA

I would like NAA to make a revolver that is as light as an LCP....smaller than a S&W J frame...but larger than a NAA .22 revolver. Is there such a revolver? Have any of you asked NAA to make such a creature?

Does the IWB carry violate Safety Rule #1?

A question for those who carry IWB: When you sit down, do you find that your gun end up pointing at your "vulnerable" area? Even while standing, if carried at the 1:00 position, with a slight angling, the HG ends up pointing at "something you do not want to destroy". So...does this not...

Do you trust your LCP with one in the chamber?

My LCP is a post-recall model. So...I'm assuming that it has the bugs fixed. Question: Do you feel it is safe to carry the post-recall LCP with one in the chamber? ( Is it now "drop safe"?)

Concealability of LCR vs. SW 638/ 642

Anyone out there purchased a Ruger LCR? I would be interested on your feedback? 1. How does it compare to SW 638 in terms of CCW? 2. Advantages/disadvantages of LCR?

    LCP modification

Gentlemen, Need your words of wisdom... 1. Does anyone know what modifications were made when Ruger made the recall? Is there now an internal safety and how does it work (please explain for those of us who are not mechanically inclined)? 2. Is the second generation LCP now considered...

    .380 ball or hollow point

I realize that a .380 is a marginal round for SD and does not always have the necessary penetration. Would a .380 FMJ be better for SD than a .380 hollowpoint..... so that it can penetrate deeper? I also read somewhere where it was said that in a .380 go with the FMJ...because hollowpoints...

Difference between .22LR and .22 mag rifle?

I realize that there are more powerful rounds out there...but between the two... which would do a better job hitting a target at 150 yards? Are there tactical advantages between the two rounds?

Storing ammo and sealing it with varnish??

For super long term storage of ammo....say 20 years.... I have heard the following: 1. Paint the back of the shell (primer) with varnish...to prevent it from rusting. 2. Store the above ammo in a military ammo box and place vaseline on the edges of the lid...to create a tight seal. 3...

Best way to regularly unload shotgun

I plan on keeping SG loaded (none in the chamber but 8 in the ammo tube). The safety is on at all times...until ready to fire. But during the time that I am not at home, I want to unload the SG (Mossberg 500). My normal procedure is to pump the action and keep on repeating this process until...
