    Mod 37 picky

Thanks in advance. Bought early 60's S&W airweight. trying different ammo. Trying to stay non +P. I have found that only certain rounds will fully seat in the cylinder. My hand loads and S&B 158 do not seat and cylinder will not swing closed. Very odd. Both drop right in the Taurus 85. What...

    Taurus failure

Hello all, I bought a Taurus 85 ultra weight a couple of months ago as a primary carry gun. At about the same time I started reloading. NOTHING heavy at all. During last month twice the revolver froze up at the range. I thought the problem was my reloads. I tapped the currently "up" round with...

    another newbee on the block

I had bought 500 rounds of 38spl reloaded from Georga Arms partially to give new a large batch of brass to start reloading. It was quite a mix of brass. Questions are (first in what I assume will be a long line): How much does it matter in handgun brass to keep in batches. I seperated into 5...

    Ruger LCP

Broke down and bought a pocket gun. Took to the range the other day for first trail. No FTF or jams. Very accurate for tiny little thing. I have had it in my pocket all day for 5 days, you forget its there. Only problem I had at range was magazine dropping. Not out, but down and not picking up...

    Hi Power failure to feed

Thanks to all. Took buffers out and left 18.5lb springs. So far so good. If continues to work well, I will put back buffers and replace springs at stock 17lb. I JUST finished putting in a C&S paddle safety. With instructions from Brownells and Mr.Camps stripping intructions it was piece of cake...

    Hi Power failure to feed

Thanks for answers so far. Thanks to Mr. Camp, I have read his site close to"front to back". Ammo, 115gr. Rem and wolf military. I will try the combinations he mentioned. My mainspring remains stock 70's/80's both guns. While we are on the subject of lessons I learned in this course, I got to...

    Hi Power failure to feed

Just finished a personal protection course. I fired 400-500 rounds in 3 days. Both of my Hi Powers had feed problems I changed around the belgium and Argentine. I switched out the 17-18lb springs. Could the buffers be limiting the slide travel (question mark) I had set up both w/the 18lb spring...

    Ruger or Browning?

I sold my ruger, Nothing against it execept as you note, PITA to strip. Though I would just use my Woodsman. Bought a Browning on a whim. The Browning taught me what a trigger could feel like. I have rested my Woodsman since. I suppose after 60 years it deserves it. The Colt is still the most...

    Hi Power ID Help

Origin Jonnyc, The broker ( on auction arms) believed so. When I emailed back to them, they simply said that they were told that. Personally, I don't think it is Argentine. There is no mention of Browning anywhere on the gun. Seems to have some MkIII characteristics, but not all. Another...

    Hi Power ID Help

Hello Folks, I hope the collective wisdom of the group can help me identify my new Hi Power. When I bought this gun I was told it was made in Belgium for the Argentine military contract. I have a FM 90 which I am fond of. This gun does not have a Crest on the slide or any Argentine markings...

    Hi Power Buffer

Thanks Thanks Mr.Camp. It was your site that made me order and install. However I did somehow miss the the exact answer I was looking for. Thank you for all the information. I feel a slightly unhealthy Hi Power obsession growing. I already am looking for an FN. Tim DuBon

    Hi Power Buffer

Just tried to put a buffer (buffer Tech) in my Argentine FM Hi Power. I could not lock the side back during reassembly. Am I doing someting wrong? Do I just force it back? I seem to be about 1/16 to far forward to get the safety up into slide notch. Any thoughts? Thanks, Tim

    FM Hi-Power

OK, bought the J&G Argentine Hi-Power. Bought the higher grade and it appears new. Very nice. I have fed it 3 kinds of ball and 3 HP with never a hicup or burp. I have wanted a Hi-Power for 30 years. Not Belgium but for $360 w/2 mags I will adjust. Easiest breakdown ever. Any body else have one...
