    Guns with stories behind them...

Dead man's gun... sort of Remember back in the late 90s a short lived TV show "The dead man's gun" it was centered around a S&W Schofield revolver that brought good or bad luck to whoever ended up with it each episode. Fast forward to last October I was working out of town and stopped at a gun...

    Good fit

To make a long story short, I was in a old John boat out on our pond back on October 31. Boat got flipped. Among other things I had my Pietta 1860 .44 with 5inch bbl. I have always used the eraser end of a pencil to “ seat “ the caps. Gun was under water less than a minute. When I got on land I...

    Rossi 92 lever action

i picked up a Rossi ( Taurus ) 92 big loop model lever in .38/.357 16 inch. A few years ago. It has been super reliable with any ammo and just a pleasure to shoot. They sold really well but they just disappeared. Outside of maybe 1 or 2 at a gun show your out of luck. So what happened ? Would...

    Uberti Schofield owners

Thanks for the replies. Yep I’m just going to shoot the heck out of it. One more question. The grips are the fake ivory and they make the grip feel very thin. Are the wood grips thicker ? And where can I find them ?

    Surplus .32acp pistol

I’ve had my M70 for about 3 years now and it’s one of my favorite guns to shoot. Get more mags while you can. At one time it was almost impossible to find them. I got 2 from J &G. Also as a side note Zastava still makes this gun but it’s not imported to the US. The surplus guns are marked made...

    Uberti Schofield owners

Just picked up a Uberti Schofield 5 inch in .45 Colt. Imported by Cimarron. Love the gun but years of shooting Rugers, Colt and Remington clones makes the grip of the Schofield seem really off. How long did it take to used to the Schofield or did you ever. I want this to be my “keeper” 6 gun.

I got it for $25 . It’s has a very tight lock up on latch and cylinder but some one had filed down the firing pin to...

    Reload question

Several years ago some buddies and I got into IDPA shooting we all had 1911's and eventually started to reload. We cast our own bullets from lead wheel weights in 45 caliber which worked great. Very little or no leading. So we tried it with 9 mm and the result was a lot of leading in the barrel...

    Boot grip on 629

a few weeks ago I picked up a nice S&W 629 3 inch. Gun came with nice rubber grips I decided it needed the short wood boot grip from Midway and they look sweet. However the recoil is HORRENDOUS . But I knew that going into the .44 mag game. anyway grips are a perfect fit no trimming and no...

    Cheapest 44 mag?

I would go double action. If you are in a real “ bear “ fight that double action will be handy no thumb action needed
