Concealed carry in a US Post Office ??

Well, it appears everyone is speculating, then. Unless you have solid written proof that one trumps the other, then you could assume penalty from either. So, it still appears ambiguous.

Concealed carry in a US Post Office ??

I think you need to look again. A weapon offense on/in federal property is up to 1 year in prison and a weapon offense in a federal courthouse is up to 2 years in prison. Website Found I bolded the points of the topic. The fine is not specified, so it could be $50 or $500,000. It is...

    What's new for 2009?

Bushnell ELite 4200 6-24x50mm for my FN PBR XP. Maybe a Glock 22. If I can get the budget going next year, a .338 Lapua rifle. :)

Concealed carry in a US Post Office ??

Sorry for the confusion. I was just making ageneral list, not a list of only federal properties. And yes, for county and city property the law on that matter would be dictated by that local government's law. But I was just mkaing th point you can't carry anywhere you damn well please. Some...

I set the metal detector off today...

The SS office nearby me has a nice lathargic, fat, sweaty armed guard that could barely cover a box of donuts, much less the perimeter. Sadly, he is there to protect the SS office employees, not the patrons. :(

Concealed carry in a US Post Office ??

He'd be a felonious hero. Hey, I'm pro-carry, but you can't deny the letter of the law--especially when it is not ambiguous at all on this matter.

Concealed carry in a US Post Office ??

Or to be decidedly clear: From 39 CFR section 232.1 paragraph 5 part L: (l) Weapons and explosives. No person while on postal property may carry firearms, other dangerous or deadly weapons, or explosives, either openly or concealed, or store the same on postal property, except for...

Concealed carry in a US Post Office ??

It's judged by 12, carried by 6. But you don't want the Grand Jury judging you.

Concealed carry in a US Post Office ??

Just because your local Sheriff pal isn't interested that you conceal carry into a PO doesn't make it legal. Heck, I don't care if you were embezzling money from your place of work, but that doesn't make it legal. "Don't ask, don't tell"--are you serious? You don't have to ask, then...

Concealed carry in a US Post Office ??

No-Go Locations: Post Office Social Security Office National Parks (unless stated otherwise) Courthouses (local or federal) Clerk's Offices (local or federal) Schools Libraries ...forget the list...let me make this simple... You cannot carry on/in federal property. You cannot...

Can I carry a Sig cocked?

No, no, no no. Never. The DA/SA action is designed to be carried in the DA mode, then subsequent shots are SA for quicker and more accurate follow-ups. DA/SA is one of the single BEST configurations in pistol design ever for carry as a duty piece or concealed. 1911 and other SAO pistols...

    Question for those with CHL/CWP's

I don't think, I believe I should be allowed to carry with no permit required, but I got over it real fast. Better to jump through a few simple hoops to get where I want to go than to wake up one day and realize they put up a brick wall. Jason

Handgun for protection from a grizzly?

This thread has gotten ridiculous. I am with Arizonaguide on pretty much everything. He hasn't been preaching antigun or tree-hugging rhetoric. He has been saying "take enough gun." I don't see how it is simpler than that or hard to understand, for that matter. You guys are so hungry...

Handgun for protection from a grizzly?

This is really a speculator's topic unless you've actually gone toe-to-toe with a grizzly with your large bore revolver. But, I guess in the spirit of speculation of the inexperienced, I'll drop my 2 cents. I, personally, think .454 Casull is the lower limit for me. While it may not be as...

    Steyr 9mm/.40 pistol...who's used one?

Maybe CDNN has them cheaper... CDNN -- $429 (last I saw) + $20 Shipping + $5 background + $35 FFL transf. = $489.00 Gander - $449 + 7% tax + $5 background + $5 in gas to drive = 490.43 It would cost $1.43 more to just go to Gander and buy it and have it the same day.
