    Kimber 1911 in 9mm

Congrats on the new Kimber, I still have a couple Clacky's in the safe.

Why do you struggle with spelling so much.

    1911 Flat Wire Recoil Springs

I don't really like the idea of having to use a different guide rod but I'm sure they work well. Sig used a flat spring on a couple of their classic P series and they worked well, 239 and one other if I remember right.

Kimber failure to go into battery

I'm not sure if anyone asked but have you checked the extractor tension.

    People rag on Kimber, but...

Just to be fair Kimber has always a bunch of incompetent fools running their service department and it's one of the reasons why they have so many haters.

    People rag on Kimber, but...

    Total hogwash in my experience.

    People rag on Kimber, but...

If the first one didn't work why would you foolishly buy several more.

UPDATE: Help me out on this (older) Kimber model.

Makes much more sense now, when you said the serial number was KGL46XX the L is actually a one. This puts it around late 97 or early 98 production. I think you did very well for what you paid, sure shoots nice.

UPDATE: Help me out on this (older) Kimber model.

Maybe it is just worn and he's telling the truth but neither the prefix nor the serial number itself you provided look right to me. Hopefully I am wrong, you will know soon enough when you go to pick it up.

UPDATE: Help me out on this (older) Kimber model.

I would take it back and try to get your money back or at least store credit. If he had it advertised and obviously priced as a Kimber, whether he knew it or not, he was misrepresenting what it actually was. Even if it's a great shooter it's not worth much more than $400 in my opinion.

UPDATE: Help me out on this (older) Kimber model.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I'm pretty sure that is not a Kimber frame. The slide and trigger are from a late 90's Kimber but the frame would either say Made in Clackamas or Made in Yonkers if it were truly a Kimber. I have two of the Clackamas pistols and they are built very well...

Swiss and US Made P210's Compared

Awesome write up and pics, at around $1400 the new P210 is a hell of a deal even if I'm not real big on newer Sigs. The American Rifleman had an article on the new P210 by Wiley Clapp. Quite impressive five shot groups, out of a RR, at 25 yards. Average out of 25 groups shot was .91" and...

CZ 97 vs HK USP 45

Just my opinion after owning or shooting hundreds of pistols in my life but this statement holds a lot of truth. When it comes to newer pistols HK really will embarrass the hell out of most of them if you consider reliability, accuracy and durability.

    New to Me Sig P230

I'm not positive that they do but Mec-gar has been an OEM for Sig mags for as long as I can remember.

    New to Me Sig P230

Congrats on picking up one of the best .380s ever made. Mags might be tough to find at a reasonable price but always stick with Sig mags or Mec-gar if you plan to carry it.

    Best current production 9mm

I've always been quite impressed with the HKs I've owned, next to the classic Sigs they are some of the most reliable pistols I've ever shot and quite accurate as well. I only have 1K rounds through my P30L but it seems I get a little better with it every time I take it out. Todd's run with...
