Check the rear site. If the rear site housing is welded on it's a stamped reciever but if they are not its a cast reciever. The cast models had fewer problems and should be good. Also make sure the front sight housing is centered correctly and the cocking tube isn't cracked.
The larger question is the price of the firearm as a package lowered due to the repalcement of the scope? From what I can see there is a $700 differance in price from a plane jane scout and a JC package model.
I got a JC package rifle in 308. One of the first year production rifles. The scope went south on me so I sent it to leupold. They sent me back a new scope with standard crosshairs. To some folks I've just ruined the collector value of the package now that I don't have the original scope BUT it...
+1 to above. My first holster was a galco M.O.B. It was O.K. but not great. After a 12 hour day my spine would be a little sore from having a 1911 pressed against it and the other thing is everytime I went to grab something for a customer If I had to turn around they had full access to my...
I'm not talking "file and hammer" made weapons. I'm talking a low cost AR for people so they have an investment in the second ammendment and in "black rifles". If your own property is on the line you'll fight a little harder in the "soft war" of politics to stop AWB II. Also This would be a way...
O.K. looks like an A1 upper is the winner so far. Any source info on old 1 in 12 barrels? DPMS prices are $179 for a non cromed 16" car barrel with 5.5" flash suppresor. DPMS's catalog has fairly low cost 4-possition stocks but would any distributors have old A1 furniture for cheap?
Soo Alot of people are liking the idea of area AR build partys. For this to work we need A) willing hands and B) parts. The goal of the build partys is low cost AR's in the hands of alot of people.
What do you all think is a good way to go for specs on the "peoples" AR. I would like to go...
I did a search for RPK info and found the bit about velocity( only 50 fps gain)
but no comments on RPK accuracy. I'm talking CIA builds I know a krebs will out shoot most other AK's but what about the wasr RPK's from CIA?
Taurus 85 for CCW, Used smith/ruger/taurus 4" or 6" 357 for ccw/hunting and a bersa in 22 for paractice and small game
Or you could get a 1911 and a 22 lr conversion and a pocket blaster with the money left over. I'd go with rock island commander length and a ciener 22 kit and the taurus 85...
Thats kind of iffy. I know it will fit a argentine model (I assume rifle and not carbine) It may work on other small ring mausers but you never know for sure.
Just go get a proper looking 1891 and call it good. You'll have to reload if you shoot much but you can use .312 ak and 303 brit bullets...
