Yes, it is the same recoil spring as the Colt Junior.
Here's a link for the recoil spring:

I'd clean out the firing pin channel and inspect the firing pin for chips, uneven wear, etc.
The firing pin spring could be the wrong one but it being weak would not cause it to not fire.
If it jams after firing then I'd bet it's the recoil spring or a bad extractor. Remove the extractor and see...
The only difference I am aware of is many thought the other chambering, .25ACP, would work for the .22 Short. That is not true.
The 2 different calibers do not interchange. So make sure you buy a .22 Short magazine and you should be good to go.
I found it easy, and cheap, to change out the screws for a better look.
Not worth frothing at the mouth over....
I thought it was the "Taurus" bull stamp, actually.
I have a Colt AR22 (made by Walther) that looks like an AR but is really just a look-a-like. It functions well and does what it is meant to do which is shoot 22LR and create some fun.
I purchased a dedicated 22LR upper from PSA which I put on a standard AR lower and that thing is accurate and...
OP, you mentioned an original Hi Power. Does that mean an older model with the external extractor or an original HI Power with the internal extractor?
My Hi Power is the Inglis model from 1944. It was redone to a more modern look but kept the original design. It has terrible sights and the...
I'm betting it is a serial# issue as stated. Perhaps the serial# was not logged into the system or someone with dyslexia entered it in wrong. It may not have shown up 'in stock' when scanned or shown 'sold' yet it was sitting on the counter. The serial# on the box may not have matched the gun...
For what it is worth, the alarm companies have a backup system if you lose your power, internet or both. It lasts for 24+ hours. So, if your internet is down the system still operates as it should.
This is where I don't get some people. Yes, I know many are brand conscious. Nothing wrong with that. It's that way with cars, clothes, neighborhoods, etc. That defines some people.
Then there are the many who want a good quality gun or car or house but have limited funds. That is where this...
I've had good luck with all my Llamas. Especially nice are the 1966 .22LR Especial, a locked breech .380 Especial and a govt size 9mm that is as smooth as butter and as accurate as any gun I own, I am also a fan of Star pistols.
Another favorite is the Phoenix HP22a, as mentioned previously.
Another fan of the Phoenix HP25a. A fun little plinker.
As reliable as their .22lr and just a fun gun to shoot.
I won't pay the going rate for the ammo so I reload for it.
It is just a fun, little gun.
Some years ago I only shot full size, steel guns (mainly 1911s). I purchased a Kahr PM9 for concealed carry. I loved that gun. It ran 100% and I learned to shoot it very accurately for being such a small gun. However, I decided to sell it because my "usual" grip caused my thumb to hit the mag...
