Nice rifle. They are a little heavy to pack around compared to todays rifles. Many were fine shooters and had strong actions, smooth bolt travel and good accuracy.
I hate to sell any guns that I own and I would keep it, shoot it and maybe hunt with it.
Lots of hunters ride to their stands...
That is a little high for my area. A gun shop here recently had some excellent condition, stainless, M15's for $325.
Unless you're looking for a square, -4, to fill a spot in a collection. Even then...
Can't compare a Sig with a Taurus. Sig is tops in the <$1000 pistol market. Police departments and military agencies in several countries use them.
I also have one and will be adding others.
I think you will be dissapointed with a Taurus pistol as compared to a Sig.

Both have...
Thanks for the word, Daniel. I ordered tonight.
At $24 for 100 rounds and shipping at less than it would cost me in gas to my local WW (even if the ammo available), it's a good deal!
While both have their advantages, the GP is a better (IMHO) combat and hunting pistol. More control with heavier loads and a better stock grip.
As a companion gun for field carry, I might opt for the SS.
My reasons
Prefer autos for:
Love single action cocked and locked ability of some
High Capacity
Faster follow up, for me
Use primarily for self defense in my vehicle
Prefer revolvers for:
Better accuracy (I shoot S&W mostly), generally, and target shooting
Magnum calibers...
Hi Old Time Hunter,
The sporter (CG 1908) is marked as a 1 with a 6.52 bore diameter.
The original M96 (CG 1919) is also a 1 with a 6.50.
