Sig single action vs single action only trigger.

Shot both a DA/SA and SAO Legion P226s both are great...But the SAO trigger reset was nothing but excellent. Way better trigger overall than the DA/SA in SA. That being said, for duty uses I would choose the DA/SA version. That being said I want a SIG Legion SAO, not the DA/SA. Did not think I...

Glock 20 MOS with Trijicon RMR co-witness Q&A

IME, There are no sights high enough to be used with the optic installed, period. To use the regular sights the optic will need to be removed from the slide.

'striker-fired' pistols - which is best, modified

Best or not, you will be able to find more everything aftermarket for a Glock than all the rest. I have several Glocks, the only one with an original Glock trigger is a G17, that has the trigger from a G34. Have to have Glock internals for GSSF. Availability of parts and accessories, cost of...

    Sig or beretta?

I like the Beretta 92 with one exception, the slide mounted safety / decocker. I like the SIG P226, P229, and my first SIG the P239. Comparable to the Beretta I would go with the SIG P226, frame mounted decocker, easier take down IMO. Both are accurate, reliable, big service pistols, Beretta is...

    An addition to my 1911

I would get a Wilson Combat Bullet Proof they are very good and seem to me to be easier to fit than all the others I have used. If memory serves me you also have to get a hammer pin that is made for the double safety. It keeps the port side safety in place.

Warren tactical sights hit high? Glock 19

Personally I would contact Dawson Precision and ask them, they sell more, know more about sights than virtually any retailer. I would guess the front sight is too short for your rear, may have been a mismatched set, IDK. Luckily the front sight on a Glock is the easiest to replace of any pistol.

I think I'm finally going to get my first Glock...

I have most of the 9mm Glock pistols, Shoot IDPA, USPSA and GSSF. 2 G34s, G17, G19 and the G26. The only one I do not compete with is the G19, while I shoot it just great, I can shoot circles around it with the G17. If you are not a Master shooter in another discipline then you will be the most...

    Sig P320 First Impressions

P320 is a modular pistol, "Freedom to change calibers. size and fit" according to the SIG web sight. Nice trigger for a striker fired pistol, nice feel in the hand. That being said I have no need for one, I have the G19 Glock it has been flawless. Sights, magazines, triggers, springs, parts and...

    "Starter" 1911

Taurus makes a great 1911 for the money, features usually only found on 1911s that cost $400-$500 more. Ambidextrous safety, checkered front strap, full length guide rod, forged frame, and the list goes on...

Your exp. with SA Loaded Target?

I had a SA Loaded Longslide stainless 6", never an issue with it, real tack driver. Found something I liked better so I sold it. Only things I did not like about it was the Bull barrel, two piece guide rod and a silly key lock in the MSH that locked the hammer. I would look at SIG for a...

    Black tip 9mm?

I believe it is a cheap copy of the old Black Talon ammunition that would expand better through hard barriers like doors and plywood. The copies are just a coated projectile or a plastic cap on conventional HP ammunition. Corbon Powerball ammunition uses a plastic ball in the HP to feed like...

    Thinking of a 1911.

Really inexpensive 1911s from I believe Turkey, I have shot some , they shoot ok, not great just ok. The finish, fit, and quality of the controls, is just too chincy, cheap, for me to want one. Rock Island Armory , or a Metro Arms would be a much better choice for just a little more. For an...

    1911 grip screwdriver

Hollow ground drivers are for Torx screws with a center tamper resistance pin. They will work with regular Torx as well.

The Glock 17 is not for me. What to do?

I like 1911s and I like the Glocks, all of their 9mm models. " But ergonomically I have found it extremely awkward. The grip angle is not for me," RaytheGreat The difference in grip angle from a 1911 and the G17 is only 2 degrees, why do people say they like 1911s but not the grip angle on a...

Best Time of year to Sell Handguns?

Been trying to sell a Jennings / Bryco .380 for $300 for about 10 years now, not one potential buyer. A questionable firearm at a ridiculous price will never sell. A good firearm in good condition, for a fair price should sell anytime. Oh yeah the Jennings has a cracked LH grip and jams on...

Do you clean your carry gun or do you not bother?

I shoot the snot out of my primary carry pistol a G19. I recently shot it without a cleaning just over 2500 rounds without any problems of any kind. I detail stripped it and gave it a proper cleaning, everything was filthy. striker channel, slide rails, frame, barrel feed ramp. Caked on residue...

What is the lock on an UpLULA for?

The lock is there only to piss me off when I'm using it in my left hand. No use for it whatsoever IMO if I need to stuff it into a pocket of a range bag I just squeeze it and jam it in next to a box or two of ammunition. At USPSA matches it engages from time to time when I'm in a hurry to load...

    1911 Grip Angle

Zerodefect, great information, never really compared my 1911s to my Glocks but they pointed similar. Wow only 2 degree difference.

And all metal gun for a plastic lover

So now, one of the original "I don't wants" was a traditional safety. The Browning / FN Hi-Power is like a 1911 in that it is single action, with a thumb safety. Good pistol, but doesn't fit your restrictive requirements of no traditional safety.
