9mm and small pistol magnum primers

I had done research on this before because I was in the same boat. Magnum primers readily available for small & large pistol, but the normal ones sold out. Depending on the manufacturer, some can add anywhere from 1000 to 5000 cup increase in pressure depending on your load. As stated above...

How often do you go shooting?

I try to get in 2x a month, also busy as hell recently. I reload my own, so its not so much the ammo, it's the time. Why oh why, with all the tech and us getting so advanced with everything, are we losing so damn much of our free time?

Why did you start reloading your own ammunition?

The Cost Savings! Then it got fun. Much more satisfying to make rounds and then shoot them yourself. Especially with my single stage press, I get to visualy inspect each one during the process. I've yet to have one fail to go bang.

ouch my S&W 44 mag hurts

+1 for good grips and having a good grip on the gun +1 for reloading, I'm a big guy and I could shoot a box of 50 retail loads no problem, but will probably feel it later or next day. Reloading will allow you to make a mid-range between 44 special and 44 mag Plus, 44 mag is so darn...

    Best CZ pistol?

I've got the CZ 85B and I love it. I like the option of ambidextrous slide release and safety. Yeah, the trigger took a few hundred rounds to smooth out, and I also did a bunch of snap-capping while watching the TV. And, CZ's actually eat up Wolf ammo with no problems. Makes for some...

Senate Bill SB-2099 - taxing guns on IRS returns?

Sorry if this was posted before... Senate Bill SB-2099 From what I read and understand, they want people to declare the # of handguns they own on their IRS tax returns and pay a fee of $25 per gun as some type of 'license' and you'll pay that every year? :cuss: This shows as valid on...

Beating a Dead Horse: Tumbler Issues

Question: This is more for looks than functionality correct? I reloaded 90% straightwall cases, 357/38, 44 mag/spl, .45acp, and then occasionally 30-30 and soon some 7.62x54r Since most of it is straight-wall, I don't lube any cases at all, so the only dirtiness comes from the powder...

    The Primer Shortage is OVER!

From Powder Valley website: Wolf had a 25% price increase on their primers. All primers will be shipped at the new price. -------- You think the cost of manufacture went up that much? Or taking advantage of the situation?

Would You Buy A Gun With Notches?

Sure would, an in-animate object is just a tool, it requires a person. Like the bumper sticker says... "Guns don't kill people..." Look at all the World War 1 & 2 weapons you can purchase cheaply. Am sure most of them have been used to kill the enemy. Would you turn down the chance to...

    Pistol primers in S&W 500

Large rifle primers are thicker and made to handle higher case pressures. Large pistol magnum usually have higher case pressures as well, but not as high as rifle loads. Depending how light your load is, it COULD work, but probably isn't the safest thing in the world. It's your gun and...

Do you write in your load manuals?

Printouts from the computer. There is so much good info online, and in the forums, that I'll compile it into a decent formatted document and store a copy on the computer, then printout another copy to tuck into the manuals. Also good because if you make notes or revise the printout, just edit...
