I use truncated code bullets and the OAL I use is 28,8 mm to the "fllaptop" of the bullet. That translates to about 1,1339". It is in a Glock 22 though, but it should not make much difference. I load for about 950 fps with 180gr bullets.

At the moment I have only one handgun, a Glock 22. It is my CCW and I shoot in Standard class in IPSC. It works every time and I do not have to baby it. And the Glock 22 is light to carry all day. I find it easy to shoot. But you will have to decide what you want from the handgun.
