    Ballistic Loophole formula

Most of, or maybe I should say, in the real world, you'll need to 'actually' shoot for the loophole. There is not a widely known 'formula' that is commonly used to figure the distance. Two shots and you can figure the distance....exactly! As was said earlier, most any of the ballistic...

    scope rings

Those rings will more than likely get you $24 dollars of headache! Get better quality rings, you'll be far better off. Take a look at the Weaver Grand Slam series bases and rings, all steel and well machined, and the price is right.

    Savage lightweight hunter

The Savage Lightweight Hunter does pretty good, the ones I have dealt with have been 1.5"@100y or less with factory ammo. I know 1.5" is NOT a great group by many standards, but with what this rifle is intended for, the accuracy is fine. As some has said, the Tikka Lite is another good...

Contemplating a rifle comparison.... Input desired!

We have been doing this for years at the shop, setting up 'package' deals for customers which generally includes mounting optics and shooting-in the firearm for the customer. Short answer... Most lesser or inexpensive units will preform as well or, in most cases better than the majority of...

    Federal Fusion .30-06 150 grain ???

Federal Fusion is indeed good ammo, we use a lot of it at the shop and it hangs in there with some of the high priced 'premium' ammo. If your rifle will shoot it well, you'll be ahead of the game, and 'most' rifles like the stuff.

Tell me about the .22 WMR

We hunt squirrel with it, some say it's over powered for that quarry but it allows for those 100y shots....you know, the house cat sized red squirrel perched out on a limb that somehow sees you 100y away and is bitchin about it. Use the standard velocity 40 gr FMJ for them though. Saves...

Deer Rifle for a 11-12 year old

The HandiRifle is a good choice if your leaning towards a single shot, I would suggest a minimum caliber of at least .243. If it were me...7mm-08, my kids started with that caliber at the ripe ol' age of 13, a Remington model 7 though, and never looked back. The 243, 260, 6mm Remington, 6.5...

    comparing recoil.

Oh my... depending on the weight of the missle your launching and the weight of the rifle, the answer could be several of the big magnums, most of the big bores, et cetra. If you can handle a 12ga spittin slugs, i bet you'll not think twice about any of the above mentioned!

    Just ordered another rifle.

And your not going to be shooting a Weatherby, but a japanese made(Howa) rifle made for Weatherby. Yup, they are pretty popular round here. If it's a 'new' production Vanguard the accuracy will be there, providing you find the ammo your particular rifle likes. Most, or I should say around...

    Ruger American?

I'll agree with greenlion, if it came down to one or the other, I would definitely opt for the Ruger.
