I confirmed through Leupold, the base is designed to be mounted with the windage screws to the rear of the receiver - with the front of the base cantilevered off the front of the receiver.
IMHO this is the best rifle for the money! I strongly recommend this rifle. I purchased a 7mm Remington Mag Vanguard from WalMart about 10 years ago. I mounted a Leupold VariX2 on it. With factory nosler balistic tip loads, I could consistently get all shots, in a (3) shot group, to touch at 100yds.
Johnnylaw53 - You might be right? My manual references any TI, Sc, PD, and reduced weight revolvers. I consider the 642 "reduced weight", but I'm not a expert.
What's the benefit of the "lock" vs. no "lock"? I am not versed in the pros and cons of the "lock."
Rondog - Awesome picture! I got the .44-itch a while ago. I was originally looking for a pre-owned Ruger Redhawk, but came across a very reasonably priced Taurus .44. The only complaint on the Taurus are the grips being too slim for my bear paws - easily solvable.
I have a 642 I originally purchased for my wife and it is an absolute delight to carry. In fact, it is my main carry gun now.
The recoil with the .38+P ammunition is heavy - it seems greater than my .44mag. In fact, my 642 manual recommends loading the cylinder with (5) new rounds, only fire...
I have a Interarms PPK\s and have never had the magazine drop out. I have used both facotry and aftermarket magazines in it.
What type of ammunition do you find feeds best through your PPK\s?
As a 007 fan, I purchased a used PPK/s a few years ago based solely on the selling price and nostalgia. It's a great firearm to carry and is very accurate/precise considering the barrel length.
I have gotten a "ppk bite" once and it can be particular with what ammo it is fed. It shoots...
I have a Leupold scope base question for any 10/22 aficionados out there. I recently acquired a 10/22T, and based on personal preference and past experience purchased a Leupold 1 piece base for the rifle. Is it me, or do these bases seem to not be designed for this rifle?
It appears there...
