Why would you think that? And as for your question as to whether the DE is "insane," as an owner of a DE in .44 mag, I can say that, yes, it IS "insane." It is insanely fun. :) Surprisingly, of the several girls that I've taken shooting for their first time over the past few months...

Though far from being a statistically significant sample, almost everyone who has replied here with experience with rifles with detachable mags has had problems with them. Although they are probably in the minority (no offense of course, guys, just simple statistics), the chances seem greater...

My thoughts, though I have no basis in reality for them: It is a pretty reputable school, and the only complaints I've read anywhere on the forums (depending on how seriously you want to take forum advice) is that they "push" membership and more sales on their students. No real negatives...
