    8x57J load data

I picked up a very nice pre-WWI sporter based on a Gew88 action. It is chambered in 8x57J with the .318 bore. Kind of hard to find data specifically for the J bore rifles. Original load seems to have been a 220gr RN jacketed bullet at about 2100fps. Based on loads for the .323 bore rifles I...

    GEW88 with double stack magazine

Gew88 may be an obsolete rifle but it is hard to beat these pre-WWI sporters for elegance.

    GEW88 with double stack magazine

Saw this really nice looking Gew88 sporter that had a double stack magazine flush with the bottom of the stock rather than the normal single stack magazine sticking down below the stock. How was this done? Is it a straight forward conversion or does it take major surgery?

    Resizing lead bullets

I have a LEE mould that casts .329 205gr bullets. I need a 205gr .320 bullet. No problem getting a .320 sizing die and if necessay I can resize in two steps, .329 to .323 to .320. Question is what will this do to the bullet in terms of shootabliltiy? Are there undesirable side effects of...

    45-70 Hot Loads

I have a Siamese Mauser converted to 45-70. Looking for loading information and just about the only thing available is for realitive low pressure loads, ~18,000psi. The Mauser action should be able to handle a much hotter load than that. Question is how hot is to hot for a 45-70 Mauser...

    Lee C329-205-1R Mold

Anyone have any experiance with this cast bullet? I was thinking of resizing to .324 and using it in an 8mm Mauser. Gas checked at ~2000fps.

Just joking. It is going to stay in the safe except for trips to the range.

    S&W Triple Lock Revolver

Even if it is refinished I like it. Nice hefty gun that is almost 100 years old, whats not to like. Going to look really cool with pearls. Wonder if it is to big to be my carry piece?

    S&W Triple Lock Revolver

A couple of pics. These don't show the finish to best advantage. Also there is some sort of film over the blue, looks like thin varnish. Found a few very small spots of rust under the grips and on the back of the cylinder.

    S&W Triple Lock Revolver

I am bragging just a bit but I would really like to know what its true value is. I got it so cheap I can be pretty sure what I paid is below what it is worth.

    S&W Triple Lock Revolver

I will get some pics up as soon as I can. Barrel has not been cut. Chambered in .44 special. I did not pay near what it is worth.

    S&W Triple Lock Revolver

I picked up a nice TL at the gunshow today :D . 4 digit serial number and last patent date is '08. Condition is excellent and all original except for the grips. Tight as a new gun with minimal wear to the finish. Need to know what to list as its value for insurance. Can anyone give me a...

    Roy Jinks Factory Letter

That is what really keeps me interested in old guns. The history attached to them. It is always a thrill to learn where a gun has been and who might have used it.
