    Assault Ban DOA

Hey Johnny, do you think it is appropriate to say that Obama has an "action packed expense account"?:) (only severe old radio fans would get that)

    Assault Ban DOA

A vote on the floor of the senate for a bill like this which is most likely to fail might turn out be a neat trick for Conservatives because a vote would let everyone know what various Liberals are in favor of. (as if many of us didn't know already) When these anti gun people come up for...

I think I made a good score on Rem 700

A couple of years ago I bought a Walmart M700 with a scope and plastic stock for $369 (or something like that) I sold the .243 barrel, the scope and the stock and the receiver ended up costing $200 or so. But, my 1978 M700 receiver looks so much better with a smoother action. Looking inside the...

    M14 / M25 builds by LRB

I can recommend Ted Brown in Oregon. He builds very professional M14s, but he is not cheap, nor should he be. http://www.tedbrownrifles.com/

Colorado sheriff says new state gun laws won't be enforced

To say that elected representatives would never be foolish enough to write legislature that would be obviously in violation of the Constitution, is foolish - unless you read what Oregon state senator Ginny Burdick wrote and proposed. Part of her state bill would enabled law enforcement to...

Any down sides to a 7.62x39 AR?

Actually, I have aluminum AR-15 mags that date to a long time ago. It has been the followers that wear but many of the original aluminum followers have held up. My problems with steel mags is that they don't always drop quickly.

    QC concerns

My 1994 Rock Chucker was made in the USA. These days, the castings are made in China and recently RCBS had some quality control with the cast material but like RCBS is, they made it right, or so I was told.

Any down sides to a 7.62x39 AR?

The bolt face and the extractor for a 7.62 X 39 is not as strong as a 5.56 bolt face as there is less 'meat' to contain the rim. The quality of consistancy is not as great as 5.56. I know about this because I shot a 6 RAT for a few years which is based on the 6.5 Grendle which has the same bolt...

    Rear AR Sight

If you should want a national match quality A2 rear sight, I would urge you to contact John Holliger at White Oak Armament. That is different from a tactical sight, however.

    Tikka opinions

I would love to find a Tikka T3 in .223. I think it would make an excellent XTC high power rifle. A friend has one and it is slick.

    The Panic Is Slowing

I recently sold a thousand primers to a friend and charged him what I paid for them a couple of years ago - $18. I suppose some other folks I know would consider that to be odd, but I won't play my friends. I also scored an 8 pound jug of 8208 today for $150 plus hazmat & shipping. I had a...

New .223 match upper on the way!

John Benjamin in Portland is very busy these days. A friend of mine drove up there this morning and brought along my M4 receiver and bolt group. He said John was working on 20 barrels he had drilled and rifled. A new upper in two weeks is very good service.
