Thanks for the responses. All but one of the mags are factory, so that makes sense. I did put some different grips on it, so that's probably it. I had another Belgian BHP many years ago that was stolen, and I did experience the problem with the blunt JHP rounds on that one. Anyway, picked up...
OK, so my dad gifted me a Belgian-made Browning HiPower 9mm yesterday. He included 4 magazines + an extended magazine. I was just checking out the general functionality of the controls, and discovered that all but one of the magazines stick in the well, and do not drop freely when I hit the...
Perfectly legal in Oregon. It's National Parks that just recently got the ban. I'm assuming your concealed carry instructor did go over other places where concealed carry is prohibited such as courthouses, federal buildings, schools, etc.
I'd say you're OK. I go through the same thing with my hobbies, especially lately. Since taking up money issues with my financially irresponsible wife, and now in the process of filing bankruptcy because of it just to try and save our house, I have lost some of the zeal I had for playing my...
Man, that's just creepy. I shoot a wheel gun mostly. I wouldn't want to be the poor sap that tries to swipe brass off my bench. I haven't had the pleasure of a brass vulture patrolling my bottom feeder; but, I would not be pleased. I don't reload; but I have a friend that does. I usually...
Yeh, I've thought of switching over to 158 gr. For now, my GP100 .357 stainless with the 4" barrel is loaded with 125 gr. Federal Hydra Shok. It's what I had handy at the time. 2 speed loaders also loaded with the same.
Hey, mine rattles too! Always has, always will. It's perfectly normal on the GP100. As for the cartridges jingling around in the chambers, if you DON'T hear them, you got a problem with fouling, and the cylinders need to be cleaned.
Thanks for the heads up. I will be checking that side plate and giving the chambers and bore a good cleaning before firing anything. It is a stainless 66-2, BTW. I did quite a bit of Photoshop work on the stainless area to make up for a crappy camera (and camera operator!). Mechanically...
There is some fouling in the cylinder walls and probably the bore that I'd rather clean up before I try firing it. It may just have to go to the range with me soon though.
Now I feel stupid. Swing the cylinder out, and there it is. A Model 66-2. I'm storing it for a friend of mine. Thought I'd clean it up for him. The cylinders in particular could use a good cleaning.
I'm rather ignorant when it comes to frame types and model names on Smith revolvers. Just curious what this might be. It is a .357 magnum with a 6" barrel. It is a 6-shooter.
I just looked at some RIA GI's today...a standard, and a commander. I asked about ordering a tactical, and my local shop wanted $550.00. I told him no thanks. I can probably do better finding a FFL for an online deal.
If you're not a member there, The Place To Shoot will zap you for $35.00 for a lane + the cost of a rental + ammo. I just joined a private club with an indoor range. I only have one handgun though, otherwise, I'd invite you along. In fact, I'm heading over there today to fire off a few rounds...
Seacliff,
Yes. I wear prescription bifocals. When I'm shooting I wear a pair of Uvex Astro OTG safety glasses over them. I didn't want to blow a lot of cash on prescription safety glasses. These things work fine for "over the glass" wear; and you can choose different tint colors. Cost me a...
I personally wouldn't want to carry with one in the pipe in a cargo pocket, especially with a DAO trigger, and I'd want a pocket holster. The M&P is a bit large for pocket carry in my opinion. I'd rather have a little .380 like the LCP or a Bersa for pocket carry. If you insist on lugging...
Same here. I use the lead-away cloths. Wipes the carbon right off. On the other hand, removing lead residue from shooting Blazer or similar unjacketed soft lead rounds is another story entirely. I need to look into some lead remover of some kind. You need to remember to wipe done with...
