    Redding Equipment

Great stuff. But it does depend on what product exactly you're looking at. I have all different colors of tools as each one has something I prefer over the competition. I will say that Redding's quality control is usually right at the top of the list. Sometimes I don't always like the design...

Using a Barrel to set up headspace and check O.A.L. with your bullet

How are you getting that measurement accurately? What are you using and how?

Available manufactured bullets. Is there a way...

Not to my knowledge. The closest thing I can think of is Midway but you have to use their set of parameters which I find very non- user friendly. Try just googling your parameters.

9mm Lee factory crimp die needed?

Absolutely get a hold of Lee and get what you paid for. I don't use the LFCD and also don't really like the idea of it. But it belongs in the set you bought and you might as well have it. You may end up liking it as others do but could also be helpful if you decide to sell the set in its...

    Primer and powder shortages

nevermind... apparantly all reloaders (including my grandfather and the likes) have interent access and reloading shops on every street corner to choose from. We don't all live metropolis USA. Have you ever been to the remote areas of Maine. I'm done, I got my economic terminology lesson already.

    Primer and powder shortages

I didn't realize this was a class in economic terminology. In all honesty it feels like my local shops are taking a spoon and "gouging" the hell out of me with it. Call it what you want but in my opinion my local shops are gouging prices as they know I can not purchase them elsewhere. That's...

Show us a picture of your reloading bench

Why wouldn't this be a sticky? This is odviously one of the most popular threads and one that beginner to experienced loaders can get great bench ideas from. I def. third that motion.

Please help with .357 and 2400

I load all my 158gr JSP's at 13.8 for all my general purpose target loads that I use for midrange target work. I find these to be very accurate at 50+ yards with a fairly snappy recoil. Not too bad though compared to my hunting loads of 14.3 gr. I would even trust these 13.8's for hunting and...

    Primer and powder shortages

Things have loosened up a bit here in Maine as well. There are still some shops that are gouging the hell out of primers. I have yet to see the $70 mark but see $56-$60 on a regular basis. I wouldn't ever pay that and tell them so when I ask about stock. As for the original post, tell that...

Lee perfect powder scale... not so perfect

I had a hard time getting used to that scale a while back. Never trusted the damn thing, especially after looking it over for quality of manufacture. The thing is even more useless than the leaky Lee PPM. Buy a new scale, I did the day after I was given the Lee and never looked back.

    "Trailboss" Gun Powder/Propellent

It sounds as if your cases are blackened then there isn't enough pressure inside the chamber to seal it completelty. Any powder whether clean or dirty will produce some sort of carbon fouling. The amount that shows up on the case usually is relative to the pressure seal of the case. Just my...

Missouri Bullets, give me a break!

I honestly don't know how the hell they do it. With demand the way it is and all. I've never dealt with a better company online and that is in regards to anything gun related to woodworking. There is just no other company out there that compares! Thanks a bunch Missouri.

    Annealing one's brass

The Hornady kit that 243winxb showed is confusing to me. The temp. indicating compound that they show has a temp rating of 475deg. Isn't brass supposed to reach somewhere around 600deg to be properly annealled? I believe this is what I have read in the research I've done on this. What's the...

    Annealing one's brass

While on the subject, I'd be interested in others steps in annealling their own brass. I've gone about this a few times but just am not real confident in my ability to get it to the proper temp. The last time I did this I had a couple of cases buldge at the shoulder to body line from the Lee...

    .223 self-defense/combat

To answer the OP I would suggest something in the 69gr. range of bullets. Not sure what your twist rate is though as I have no experience with AR's and honestly probably never will. I love the .223 Rem cartridge but think very little of AR's. Sorry, off topic. I might even go heavier if your...

    .223 self-defense/combat

More caliber madness. Sorry Kelbro but I think that your perception on .223 is way off base. I easily take deer with it in Maine. 9 dead and zero missed with my .223 bolt action. I own larger calibers but just like carrying my .223 around much better, plus the accuracy is .5 moa or better...

Looking for some ideas for Savage 99

I load for a .300 Savage 99 and trust this rifle more than any other firearm i've handled. Not only is the rifle a beauty but I love loading this caliber. To me this is the original .308 and can do just as well as it here in the Maine woods killing whitetail. I don't load super hot cartidges...

    Ruger Target Rifle MarkII

I do like the pillar part of your bedding job. I would not have ever tried that myself, especially with the angled front recoil lug screw. I have a new rifle coming to me in about a week or so that should outshoot the heck out of my Ruger. Once I have the new rifle in my hands I intend to...

    Ruger Target Rifle MarkII

SlamFire1, I would be interested in seeing more info and pics of your bedding proccess if possible. I have been thinking about bedding my Rugger M77 but have been scared away due to the angled recoil screw. I really don't know how to go about it and struggle to find info about it. What do...

    Best .223 under $1200

I agree that the best scope for a reasonable price will be without a dought the Bushnell 4200 elite series of scopes. I've had the opportunity to use a friends and was amazed at the quality when compared to much more expensive scopes of that magnification. You are probably going to be more...
