I hear stories about these MOA Mosins, but I have never seen one in person. Not out of the dozen or so I've personally fired nor other people's at the range. No doubt MNs that shoot MOA exist, but they can't be as common as the internet would have you believe.
I'm thinking of going the Del-Ton route now, but I'll probably go for the 20'' barrel as I live in NY and can't have a collapse able stock. I think a 16'' barrel would look kinda funny with a full A2 stock.
I'll keep an eye out for that next time. Still, I don't think .30-30 is too expensive when it comes to center fire ammo. Sure if you're going to run through a few hundred rounds during a range session, but sometimes I like to plink with something bigger.
I was using ammo engine, and they could have been wrong, but it still reads 160 rnds/box. Even elsewhere I wouldn't say 50 cents a round is too bad. As far as center fire ammo goes I don't think you'll do much better.
Fair enough, but a difference that makes no difference is no difference. If whatever supposed damage done by my cleaning rod is so slight as to be completely unnoticeable to me then its not a problem. Then again I've never owned a world class target rifle and never will.
Why do people keep saying this? The CMP supply has dried up. You'll be lucky to get a beater from them and USGI carbine prices have skyrocketed recently. The Auto Ordinance ones seem to be the most faithful reproduction and the best bet for someone looking for a shooter on a budget.
Most of the rudeness I've experienced looking at guns has been at the larger chains like Bass Pro and Gander Mt. A few years ago I was looking to buy a cheap semi-auto .22 and went in to Dick's to buy a 10/22. The guy at the gun counter wouldn't sell to me because I had a PO Box address on my...
I never heard of this place before, but I just took a look at the used guns on their website and was blown away by the best prices I've seen since obamamania sent them through the roof. I thought I was just going to have to accept "less ridiculous" prices for all my future purchases as they've...
Based on what's been said here it looks like a CZ 550 will probably be the best choice for me as the pre '60 stuff does demand a higher price. I hadn't seen any new Remington 700s with irons before but now that its been pointed out to me I'll keep my eyes open for one as well. Thanks for the...
No aversion to CZ at all. I got a chance to shoot my friend's 527 FS and loved it. I was just wondering if there was some other easy to find or less expensive (money's a bit tight these days) rifles that I had perhaps missed.
I never wear either when I'm just shooting my .22s. I always wear both with anything bigger (I'm a wuss when it comes to the noise and I'd like to visually confirm the number of fingers on my hands in the event of a kb).
I'm looking for an accurate bolt action to fill a hole in my safe, but the sticking point is that its got to have iron sights. I don't have to compensate for weak eyes, don't want to spend a few hundred more on a decent piece of glass ATM, and I want irons as a back up even when I do invest in...
