"It does sound like a bit of miscommunication, the smith should try and meet you at least half way. It also seems like he is just being a bit stubborn on his position and telling you your opinion is wrong."
He is being very decent about it, I am just very disappointed. I don't want to smear...
Jim, I agree. I had intended to build them right once and keep them. I had hoped to someday hand them down to my kids. Now every time I look at them I will be reminded of his <deleted> move. So no I have no reason to have him mark up my guns. Further, I do remove as much from my cars/bikes...
No the barrels were disassembled for melonite case hardning. All components were provided by me. In short he gunsmithed, not manufactured.
True to my word I researched the requirements of what what constitutes manufacturing.
In summary: Since the parts were not purchased by you, nor...
Below is the email response to my clearly displeased response. I likened his putting his logo on my rifles to a dog marking it's teritory. I gave him a spec sheet that itemized the work to be done and asked if he had any questions... well you can read the rest:
"First, I do no appreciate...
In the above example it was not on the spec sheet nor disclosed anywhere in previous discussions via email and phone nor was it listed as standard proceedure on the smith's website.
I am kind of with RONDOG on this one. I don't care to pay for anyone's advertising.
Further I spent 6...
Is it standard proceedure to put your logo on a customer's rifle when doing a trueing and rebarrel on the customers supplied components?
Further is there a legal requirement to do so in the above example?

My CZ 452 varmint shoots circles around my full custom NULA 22lr. Different rifles, weights and uses but NULA's are known for accuracy.
My wife has claimed the CZ as her's. I am in the process of transforming it into a tactal trainer.
Go for it, and if you like it, you can upgrade it as...
As crazy as it sounds I built it for hog hunting. If I'm in a blind the weight doesn't matter... walking could suck. No bipod or dangly cool gadgets. I wanted a shooter plain and simple. If I could put the pig on a diet I would be much happier. If it shoots good then I will be happy enough.
I weighed it with my bike scale (suspended) and it came in at 14.85 pounds as pictured. I probably need to double check it as it does not feel like it.
I only finished building it a couple of weeks ago so I have not had time to run a few through.

Bushnell Tactical Elite 2.5-16 x 42mm
I just bought a Bushnell Tactical Elite 2.5-16 x 42mm scope for mine. I also opted to upgrade the stock after reading about how a M1A will chew up stock bedding each season if used quite a bit. The Troy stock also makes the take down for cleaning a...

Could you share your shooting impressions?

Thanks!
I have a CZ 452 Varmint with a Timney trigger and McMillan stock, and a New Ultra Light Arms .22lr. By the time I brought the CZ up to the NULA they cost virtually the same. Both are outstanding rifles that can put round after round into the same whole at 30-50 yards. I can not say if they...
I have a 'NULA', New Ultra Light Arms rifle. It is easily my most accurate rifle! I am considering a Kimber Montana next as they are very similar and Kimer is licensing the actions or the stocks from NULA (I can't remember off the top of my head). By going with the Kimber I'll still be able...
