    S&W 637 quality equal to a taurus?

S&W 638 not the 637, been pocket carried most of the time some OWB. Mine's still in a good state without much wear. I think they hold up ok. Take the Smith over the Taurus, it will serve you well.

Which Firearm Has Been a Pleasant Surprise?

After shooting 1911's all my life, I decided to get a Glock 36 45 acp for it's size and weight. After hearing all the stores on how the grip angle was all wrong on the Glocks I was very surprised at how well I shot it right out of the box. Now it's one of my favorite shooters.

    S&W 637 quality equal to a taurus?

If I remember right they had a problem with the coating flaking off the cylinder. The gun worked just fine, just didn't look good. S&W took care of the problem and all's well since. I have not heard of that happening in years. Buy with confidence.

What do you look for when trading or buying a used pistol?

Congrats, that's how it's done. Sounds like both partys were happy with the deal. Enjoy.

    Glock 36 vs.......

My favorite sized carry gun has always been the CCO, commander sized slide on an officer frame, for the 45acp. When looking for a non 1911 45acp I came across the Glock-36. It was about the same size as my CCO's and was lighter in weight. I bought it onsite and it has been my EDC gun since. No...

    Colt New Agent . . . . no sights.

Look for a Colt Defender same gun with rear sights.

The reason I was told .45 long colt was all sold out.

+1 on that. Unless you buy some $3 a round ammo and that ain't gonna happen. Shoot the cheap stuff to get the brass and make my own real 45 Colt.

    Is 6 Shots Really Enough?

I have my 5 shot J-frame in my pocket most of the time, if I feel under gunned I move up to my hi-cap 6+1 Glock 36 45acp.

    Thoughts on 45.acp Revolvers

    New to 38-44 loads

I have a Ruger gp-100 that I want to build some 38-44 loads for. The GP is 38 spl only. So a few questions, soft lead with a gas check or hard cast lead bullets. I see some bullets with two crimp grooves one for 38 and one for 357.If I use some of these and load it in the lower groove would it...

How close to 357 numbers with 38 spl+P

38-44 now that's the ticket. I use universal clays and bullseye powders, got any load info ? I guess I should be in reloading instead of revolvers, my bad.

How close to 357 numbers with 38 spl+P

I have a GP-100, 4 inch barrel, that's 38 spl only. Most all of my reloading is for standard 38 spl. Just want to know what would be some nice hot loads for the GP-100 as it's built on a 357 frame.

45 colt pressures with universal and unique?

Hard to keep everything sorted out with Rugers.

45 colt pressures with universal and unique?

I think you have that backwards. The older models were built on the large frame with newer models built on the medium frame. I think you should be OK with 7.5 to 8.5 Universal clays. I would stay away from any over 9 gr.in the medium frame.

I have a dilemma (thoughts appreciated)

Carry on with what you're doing. I consider every gun I own as a carry gun, granted some are a lot easier to deal with than others. I shoot enough to be ok with all my main ccw's and change whenever I fill the need to. With what you got listed I'd be wanting to tote the 44 spl most but...

    45 colt loads?

I think 250 gr to 255 gr bullet are very, very close to the same. I think lead swc and lead rnfp to be very, very close. Now lead to jacketed is a horse of a different color. I go close on bullet weight and most shapes in the types of bullets. Lead for lead, plated for plated and jacketed for...
