Nice rifle! A little Leupold 1.5-4X20 is a good fit on my old Marlin .35 Rem. I really appreciate a good LPVO on my AR but it’s hard to beat a lightweight 1” tube on a lever gun.
No pictures unfortunately but my Ruger single 6 (4 5/8”) has been a fantastic shooter over the years. Thousands of rounds with no issue and damn accurate in my hands. I’ve handled a Wrangler and it’s fine but not a Single Six.
Sako A7 has accounted for 10 head of game from pronghorn to elk. 50-320 yards it’s never let me down with 180 grain Accubond handloads. Put a lightweight Swarovski on it last year and love it more than ever.
This type of warrant service is not how real day to day local law enforcement does business. Unfortunately the pencil pushing Feds seldom get to “play cop” and seemingly too often overact and use piss poor and overly aggressive tactics.
Very cool! The idea of a reflex sight mounted low like that is excellent for a lever gun like that. If you end up using it a lot, consider picking up a used RMR over the clone. That sight has proven remarkably tough in my experience and the auto adjust brightness is super practical.
Picked up a shorter grip frame for my EDC 365XL. Love the gun and figured less printing under a T-shirt wouldn’t be a bad thing. Haven’t shot pinky tucked much lately but never had a problem with the Glock 27 back in the day.
The optimal amount of oil varies some under the conditions of use. My Glock gets open carried in a mostly dry but also dusty environment so I use very little oil.
Were I going to the range and firing a few hundred rounds a little more would reduce wear. That said, wear is low down on the...
I like my little Ruger for what it is. Group is 7y offhand with those Gold Dots. Shooting quickly isn’t as pretty but will work in a pinch.
Not my usual carry but SO NICE for urban rucks and taking the kids to the park.
I don’t have a ton of rounds through it but it’s been 100 percent...
Get a .22 and shoot the snot out of it, it will make you a much better shooter. Light to moderate clean is all it will need to keep shooting great.
I love my Single Six and clean it only when the rounds get tough to seat due to fouling.
That’s got to be so much fun with a suppressor! How bad is the maintenance on that Dead Air Mask? I’ve been seriously considering getting a rimfire can this year.
The wife got the smallest/cheapest from cabelas several years ago. It’s done great and a higher volume one would be of little value given the fact that all of the meat care prior to grinding takes the most time and effort anyway.
That cop did nothing wrong. LE doesn’t approach typical calls for service from 20 yards away and demand folks show their hands. No time to get of the X or draw a gun either.
Hard truth- it’s easy to kill anyone if you have the element of surprise and are committed. Murder isn’t hard.
As a...
My uncle and hunting mentor gave me this 1950’s in .35 Remmy. It’s priceless to me but certainly not worth a grand objectively speaking. It does shoot better than expected though and is well made.
Good points! Another sometimes overlooked benefit of a revolver in bad situations is a contact shot. No slide to go out of battery can be very important up close and is one reason I really like a Jframe as a backup.
Good luck, Barnes “LRX” never made sense to me given both the lack luster BC and documented lack of expansion with all copper at reduced impact velocity.
And yes I’ve tried Barnes a couple of times on game and they need a higher impact velocity to kill cleanly.
