I have a brick of primers that looks like the one on the upper right, marked at $9.80.

    LSWC in a .45acp

Could someone give me the measurements on one of the H&G #68's so I could compare them to what I have?

Do you write in your load manuals?

I have that book. Actually, I have a numbered copy of it. There is a lot of information in that book.

Cleaning dirty lube out of bands

I have a box of .45 bullets that are lubed and have been sitting for who knows how many years. There is all kinds of dirt and dust stuck in the lube. I don't want to run that down my barrel. Does anyone know the best way to clean them up? As scarce as components are getting, I don't want to...

    LSWC in a .45acp

To be honest, I don't know what mold they're from. They are cast by an old company that's out of business: CLC Industries Inc.

    LSWC in a .45acp

Thanks for all your help guys. Guess I get to go home and experiment now. But, that's the fun part of reloading. I was really hoping to be able to make these bullets work as I found a pretty good deal and can buy about as many as I want.

    Cleaning bullet lube

Dusting with cornstarch is generally how I deal with LLA when I use it. Some people say that tumbling live ammo is a bad idea, as it breaks the powder down and increases the burn rate. How much tumbling it takes to achieve that I do not know.

    LSWC in a .45acp

The rounds would get stuck ramping up into the chamber at about a 45 degree angle. I actually fudged the OAL a little. My Lyman Cast Bullet handbook gave an OAL for a Lyman bullet (which they are not) at 1.161 and the Hornady book says 1.20. The Lyman OAL actually seated the shoulder of the...

    LSWC in a .45acp

I finally got some dies for my .45 and had picked up a box of 200 gr LSWC for it. I did a lot of reading and research, and it seemed that most guys didn't have a problem with those types of bullets chambering in a semi-auto pistol. I loaded some up over the weekend, and the first 10 or so...

Upset the wife about 330 this morning...

It's already been stated on here numerous times, but I'll go ahead and state the procedure at our house: When either one of us gets out of bed we reach over and make physical contact with the other one and tell them where we are going. If we enter the bedroom after the other spouse has...

    TiteGroup

Are these some starting loads, as far as the powder goes? I have never used Titegroup, but other pistol powders can leave a fair amount of unburnt powder in the barrel when loaded on the lower end of the scale recommended in your loading manual. When I started using Unique, it wasn't until I got...

    new backstop

It looks good though. I'd say it will stop about any rifle round you throw at it.

    new backstop

Just out of curiosity, do you shoot only high powered rifles at this backstop or do you shoot slower moving pistols at it as well? Someone once advised me against a tire/rubber back stop because the slower moving projectiles might not penetrate and could bounce back at you. I have no personal...

I know you have your solution already, but I was turned on to Turtle Wax premium polishing compound by a member on another forum. It works really well, puts a pretty good shine on in about an hour.

Not to mention, how many rounds were fired in that experiment. (Not doubting your skill, just making a point)

Should Gun Stores offer Military/LE Discounts?

I can only speak for my geographic area, but I would like to chime in: As LEO's in our area we don't make the big bucks. We make enough to get by. We're not starving and we're not rich. Law enforcement is a small community. One of our local gunshops gives law enforcement discounts, not only...
