    ccw instuctor liability

Joshua, Thanks for that information. This question came up recently at our club. Members who are NRA certified instructors are running classes on club property. The question was "what if one of these students goes and shoots up a mcdonalds, can the club be held liable because they got...

    ccw instuctor liability

Is anyone aware of a case where an instructor put someone through a pistol safety class, the student went on to get a permit and then the student did something stupid with there pistol and the instructor was found liable in any way? it has been suggested to me that this "could happen".

    30 BR in a 308 action

I am thinking about building a rifle based on the 30 BR cartridge. I was wondering if anyone here knows if a 30 BR cartridge will cycle in the action of a 308 rifle, specifically a savage 10 which is a box magazine feed 308.

Does the name on a lower receiver determine resale value?

It will really depend on the buyer. My guess is though, the only name that will seriously influence the value in a postive direction is "Colts mfg" on the side. Certainly there are some other marquee names, but none have the recognition and associated name value that Colt does.

Should I give up on the M1A?

FH, I meant nothing buy it, poor wording on my part. It was really more directed at kaferhaus who said he would never pay such prices, but unless he bought his at genuine bargains in an estate sale or something, he in actuality did pay such prices, just in another era....its not an attack...

Should I give up on the M1A?

What year was that? Flatbush commented that he got a supematch in 1979 for 550 bucks. Not to be an a-hole, but newsflash, in 2009 dollars that is almost 1,700.00. I suspect you either got good deals, or the decaed was the 70's, in which case you paid essentially what they cost now...

    Why did Colt fade away?

Colt marketing is just flummoxed. In Connecticut, we have a Cabelas. It is literally just a few miles to where Colt makes guns, but there are hardly any Colts even in the showcase. That is pathetic and sickening. Colt could easily work with the local sales counter over there, get some...

History Channel's "Top Shot" on Sunday night

He sent 30 rds down range? I think about my 15th miss, I would have pulled the bolt out and done a quick boresight to get the irons at least somewhere near the target. If it indeed was the rifle, the other guy smacked the 50 in 3 shots.

Who thinks this a decent range idea? PIC

what John said. Berm design and the target orientation relative to those berms is what makes a range safe or dangerous for stuff(people, houses, roads, livestock, etc....) Ground ricochets are extremely common and those bullets will easily go over down range berms if berms are to low or...

What is your dream gun ?

I'm with Texas Rifleman. A bespoke double Holland and Holland in .375 without question is my "money is no object" gun. I would also like to throw in a set of double shotguns, seeing's how I am there getting fitted and all... Everything else is within reach with a little fiscal...

I could experiment, but the knowledge base here is huge.

I'm an advocate of just having a live round in the chamber. In a home defense situation, or a potential home invasion scenario, I may be running to that gun with someone in pursuit of me in my own home. I want to not have to do anything but thumb the safety and pull the trigger.

    HD Auto Shotgun

I don't own a Beretta yet, but will. I did read a lengthy article about reliability of shotguns in the vein of dove hunting in Argentina. Apparently, this is some sort of epic shooting marathon because of invasive birds. There are no bag limits and it is open season year round. It is...
