.177 or .22 for first air rifle?

You can get a Hatsan 95, 22cal, with iron sights, and a cheap scope, for around $159. $179 if you want gas piston rather than spring. https://www.pyramydair.com/a/Air_guns/Air_rifles/150/brands_242/calibers_0_22

I bought this Turkish .177 gas spring rifle. Any background ?

Nice Hatsan 95. I have a couple Hatsan 125's. Both the Vortex style. 22 cal and 25 cal. Accurate and powerful.

    Playing catch-up

I just got back into airguns myself recently. In the last few months I've bought two 22 caliber, and a 25 caliber. Here's the cliff notes on the 22s, RWS 3500 22 cal - Looks great, nicely finished, pellet picky, hold sensitive, screws loosen fast. Killed a Hawke 3-9x40 in under 50 shots...

I find I'm enjoying the air rifles quite a bit. Glad I decided to get back into this genre of shooting.

    Hatsan 125 Sniper Vortex QE

Mild day in the 40s today so I was shooting the Hatsan 125 some. Got about 500 pellets through it now. Chrony shows a bit more speed than when new. - JSB 18.13 gr, 840 fps, 28 FPE - Crosman 14.3 gr, 935 fps, 28 FPE 40 yard target. Have it zero'd with the JSB 18.13gr. Slight L to R wind, 5...

    Hatsan 125 Sniper Vortex QE

I recently got back in the airgun game. I had owned a Sheridan 'C' Series 5mm/20 cal for a number of years back in the 1980s up to around 2005 or so when I sold it. I always enjoyed it, but in reality I probably only put 500 or so pellets through it. It was a good shooter, and killed a few...

    Tell me about AR-style .22s...

I ordered a CMMG 22LR barrel, and made my own using a milspec upper/lower. It's a nice 22. I prefer the shorter 15 round magazines from Black Dog.

Hogue Micarta for Ruger Super Blackhawk Square Trigger Guard

I have the Hogue white micarta and black micarta. Mine are for the Blackhawk/Single Six grip frame. I really like them. Look great, feel great. Don't stain easily. I did minor fitting, less than 5 minutes with sand paper. Here's the white micarta on the 45 convertible, Same grips on the...

    Blackhawk Serpa Glocks Question

I learned the straight trigger-finger draw using revolvers in old school Sam Browne leather rigs. It carried over to the Glock/Serpa without any issues. Then again, I was trained to muscle memory....thousands of tedious and mind-numbing repetitions, under the close scrutiny of eagle-eyed...

    Blackhawk Serpa Glocks Question

I use a few different holsters. Among them, I've been using the Serpa for over 10 years. I use the paddle. It's not my favorite concealment holster because it does stick out further than most concealment holsters. In the winter time with vests and coats, it's not a big deal, but summertime...

    Blackhawk Serpa Glocks Question

I can understand why some trainers don't want to deal with an untrained shooter, and a Serpa holster. Most of the training courses are anywhere from one day, to maybe three days at most. That is not enough time to engrain proper muscle memory. Back in my USMC days where I learned about fast...

    Blackhawk Serpa Glocks Question

To release the retention on the Serpa, one never needs to hook your trigger finger. The fact is, if you position your trigger finger straight as if straight along the frame, it releases the retention. As the pistol comes out of the holster, your trigger finger is straight and along the frame...

    Blackhawk Serpa Glocks Question

The Serpa can be problematic for those who draw with a hooked trigger finger. Of course, most any other holster will also. That 'shooter' ^^^ might be better served with a single-action revolver.

    Blackhawk Serpa Glocks Question

I've also got Serpa holsters for the Glock standard frame (G17/22) and the larger frame (G21). I noticed the larger holster does sort of work with the slimmer slide of the G17, but there is a little bit of noticeable slop. I prefer to use the correctly sized holster for each size pistol.

Now Beto wants to take ALL THE SEMI-AUTO FIREARMS away (Not just AR15s and AK47s)

Beto isn't even IN the race, never has been. He's so far down in the Dem polling it isn't even funny. Typically in the 1% - 4% range. He's just venting his spleen. The rest of the Dems are using him as a barometer to gauge public response, and hone their own lies.

Winchester .38 Spl 158gr LSWCHP +P in Clear Ballistics Gel.

That's not a bad load for the snub 38 if you ask me. I weigh penetration far more important than expansion. I'd take this old load every day over a Glaser safety slug, or Civil Defense lightweight high expansion load.

    Simple poll about mag capacity.

I get what you are saying, but I can think of a few who are still among the living. The church shooter from back east, florida school shooter, this El Paso shooter quickly come to mind. They should all be fed to the gators. Wouldn't stop them all, but it would some.

    Simple poll about mag capacity.

I think the punishment for these shooters should be to throw them into a rattlesnake pit, or alligator pit, and publicly televise the punishment. I believe a harsh consequence is the best deterrent at this point.
